I think its a case of you pays your money and take your choice. Im a Londoner have lived there most of my life. Hackney Islington, Edmonton, Enfield they all have their fair share of violence. I now live in a village in a rural part of England and still read in my local rag of Arson ,stabbings, drugs etc. I must say during my time as a London cabbie (34 years) I felt intimidated whenever I went to Brixton and Nth Kensington.

Well i Never!
well i was watching a programme last night about this and it said Lambeth - Brixton!

I dont know where the official rougest part is but I would guess somewhere like tottenham, brixton, peckham, haringey etc.... all complete sh-it holes

when i used to live there Brixton was one to avoid walking through at night, even Mckyntyre from 'mckyntyre investigates' got mugged there and guy pulled out a flippin' machete! yes a very rough area.

The Houses of Parliament. Whenever we see it on TV (which is most nights), they are usually shouting at each other. You do not get such brawdy behaviour anywhere else in London. And there are people there that openly carry swords!

Brixton, Hackney and Peckham

I don't know exact statistics and some areas have lovely parts and nasty parts and it's unfair to generalise. For instance, I've always felt safe in Brixton centre and often go there for cinema / tube etc, however I do feel a little edgy when I go down the bottom of Coldharbour Lane. You can't say that one area is better than another because all have good streets and bad ones.

Statistically speaking, in 2006 Police figures reveal that it was the London Borough of Hackney, but they would say that it doesn't show a true picture of the Borough.
