Good Universities in both but interestingly a large number of Irish students attend Scottish Universities - particularly Stirling , Dundee and St Andrews . Wider choice in Scotland and certainly cheaper than the Republic . Weather is similar . |

What is your base currency? If Sterling, go to Scotland. If any other, go to Ireland. |

where is the best location - are you going to uni? Isn't that more important to get the best uni? Take into account the fact that Ireland is obviously an island and (living on one of them myself) you should take into account the costs of getting on and off it. We can pay upto £300 for a return flight to the UK - flight lasts 30 minutes... but that is something you need to think about if you want to visit other places. Ireland is beautiful but since the euro came in is certainly more expensive than Scotland. Good luck anyway |

i like Ireland as Scotlands too cold, But as it's you who is studying there, find a little more information out about the area your staying at and see which is best for you |

You would be better choosing by the merits of the university rather than its location. |

Scotland. I suggest either Fort William area of Sutherland (if you are very adventurous as it is the huge amount of wilderness hardly inhabited). Orkney is also very lovely. Don't be reeled in by Loch Ness though- its :/ very touristy. |
