Is Camden Town in London a posh and expensive area?

Definitely not posh. Expensive yes because it is close to central london. flats there probably cost in the region of Â£220,000.00 + for a 1 bedroom.

Amy Winehouse used to live here. And I also met Kelly Osbourne there- it does have a very alternative crowd. It's great if you love that sort of thing but I personally would not like to live there. I sometimes go out in the evening there and it can be quite dangerous.

Only 2 weeks ago i walked out the station and 5 black guys standing outside offered me drugs!

If you are looking for a posh place to live, try Kensington/Chelsea/Fulham/Hampstead etc.

Its really expensive to live there as its main population is made up of middle class labour. There is a more bohemian element that gives it that unique quality though. Some lovely pubs there too.

I used to live there, expensive yes, posh not really but quite trendy and alot of tourists, in the summer it is jam packed you can hardly move in the high street and markets. There are some fab bars and night spots in Camden but there is also quite alot of crime and alot of junkies hanging around at night but all in all i loved Camden, there's a good mix of people in it and of course it's famous for its rock/punk/metal scene, there's always a rockstar or celeb drinking there

Property prices in Camden Town are not cheap. There are some very expensive Georgian and Regency town houses.

Although the word 'posh' is not one which comes to mind immediately when thinking of Camden Town, there certainly are some very posh parts of the area. Not forgetting that Camden also includes such areas as Little Venice and Regent's Park [or part thereof].

Doubt it...it wasn't posh in the mid seventies - runaways from oop north, just off trains at Euston and St. Pancreas used to head off there, hoping to be picked up by old 'hows yer fathers' in their Austin Princesses and Vanden Plas motors. It's probably an arsonists' paradise now!

Mixed. There are expensive houses and shops, but there are also some council blocks and estates as well

its well known for its punk rock image and (drugs)
wicked nightclubs though and the punk scene is amazing
so its not posh but can be quite expensive.

It's not exactly posh, lots of trendy independent shops, goths and hippies! Pretty exclusive place to live though, would have thought it's pretty expensive.
