Is England in Europe? |
I know the answer to this, as I'm English, I will give 10 points to the first correct answer. (I'll try not to give it to an English person though as they have an unfair advantage, sorry) Additional Details Fairy Rie is just being a silly sausage! |

Well, physically it is not part of Europe because England is part of the British Isles. But politically, it is in Europe although there are some European things which England isn't part of. |

Geographically speaking england is considered part of the continent of Europe.Physically england composes a portion of two islands off the Northwest coast of europe. The england, a member nation of the United kingdom is self-governing, yet is also part of the european Union.A mean bunch of buggers who cheat at rugby, england is a poor neighbour to the nation of Wales. |

England (as a country) is within Europe (as a continent).
However, England is yet not completely a part of European Union, bearing in mind the fact that the English (or British to be more precise) people have NOT had their say through a referendum, as once promised by the Labour government (however, with their present reputation, people shouldn't be surprised if they withdraw back from what they once promised). |

I'm English, and yes, England is in Europe, geographically speaking. If all islands do not belong to a continent, then Iceland, for example, could stand alone! There are five circles for five continents on the Olympic flag (I believe); there is not one for England! Though I understand there may now be more continents.
Please give the 10 points to Jelli! |

The question, I think, is whether England (or more precisely the United Kingdom) belongs to continental Europe. That's open to debate, but since the UK is separated from France only by a rather small strait of water, and also still belongs to the contiental shelf, the answer is "yes."
Historically and politically, the answer is "Yes, of course". |
