Yes it is popular, why i dont know, Ask the Pakistanis, Indians, Poles, Scots etc.
They seem to know something we don't.

yeah for benefits, ask the asians and poles they seem to get more than us english and we were born here otherwise you go sheffield for steel, stoke-on-trent for pottery and so on

We are the major trading place in the world luvvie. The Beatles, Invented most sport, great history (we've owned near enough every country in the world and given them back, PC). Everyone hates us and I couldn't give a toss. But we come second on popularity behind USA. Where are you from? Mars?

haha I agree with Viola V, and plus its really London thats popular, its seen as a expensive and rich place where all the "rich" people go for their holidays, I live in London and I don't see anything special about it except its ridiculously expensive to live it, to buy a one bedroom apartment in central London would cost no less than Â£1million, expensive eh? Also I think its because London is the most cosmopolitan and multi cultural city in the world lol

i personally think england is overated and i want to move...look at our weather and economy at the moment except loads of immigrants insist on moving here - i dont know why!

i think the reason why england/britian is popular with tourists is becuase of its history, sport (we invented pratcically every one - football, cricket, rugby, tennis etc...) and i suppose food...
