I think Western Scotland is like a more dramatic version of the lake district

Parts of Devon and Somerset are far better.

Depednds on individual taste and choice - it is certainly one of the most beautiful places around but a trifle busy in summer . The more isolated north west of Scotland - Assynt - Knoydart - Morvern - Argyll and Perthshire are scenically in the top ten .

Flick
I think it's fair to say that it is one of the most beautiful places.

Cornwall
Yorkshire
Scotland
Parts of Wales
Lake District

In no particular order!

Aloys B

'Most' is too definitely a word. It is beautiful but there are many places which are beautiful as well in Britain, such as Cornwall, Devon, Ireland etc.

SteveT
It's a matter of personal taste.

To many people their own home area is the most beautiful

cosmicmoon
No. My vote goes to Cornwall.

Yes, but I'm biased I live here

Lakes are great, and Scotland, if you are wanting scenery, no better place to go,

Private
I have travelled this country extensively and there is nothing in the same league as the Lake District.
Another poster reckons that parts of Scotland are even better. If thats true,I must have missed them as have the hundreds of thousands of other tourists.
Scotland is much more of a windswept soggy moor.
The Lake District has massively varying landscapes, rivers,of course lakes, mountains of all colours shapes and sizes in a relatively compact area.
Go there.

No.I've got a six acre field with three horses in it.That beats everything.

There are loads of beautiful places in Britain, the ones mentioned above included, and more besides.
I will say that if all Private saw was soggy moorland on his trips to Scotland then he needs to broaden his horizons a bit, because he did indeed miss the scenery !! :)A quick google should show him some of what he missed..lol
