Take no notice of half these dickheads , Liverpool is a great city to visit there is loads to do weather you wont to go sight seeing , shopping or even on a piss up , pity its only the weekend , Saturday nights are brill you will enjoy it , as for the comments about getting knifed and don't take loads of money out with you , common sense will tell you not to walk round with wads of cash anywhere ,and you can get knifed ANYWHERE not just Liverpool , how will you know if you don't try , once you have been once trust me you will go again. enjoy tour visit.

Question like this always bring out the a*** h**** who call Liverpool fit to burn. But do you notice they never say what part of the country they are from. Liverpool is no worse than any other large city in this country come and find out how friendly the Liverpool people are.

there r some wonderful places to visit , ie at the dock the is the whole beatles tribute whitch is fab.
there are some fabulous shops too.

liverpool has a bad rep of thieves but its not all bad , no worse than any other city .

As a scouser, Liverpool like any other major city has it's good points and bad, the born and bred people of Liverpool are very friendly, and full of humour, it has always had a bad name as a den of thieves, but as I said earlier not unlike any major city, you stay away from the bad area's, most Liverpool people are honest, but rough and ready, the accent, you either love it or hate it, I love the welsh accent, but others hate it. Liverpool has a natrual affinity with the USA as we had a lot of airbases here during the war, and the airmen shall we say spoiled the girls, so granny has passed that on through the years, (wink wink), Liverpool is well worth the visit, and you will be made very welcome, and I doubt you will be mugged, or shot, but guarantee you will be spoilt.

It's an excellent city to visit for a weekend, a week, a month or to live in for the rest of your life. Don't listen to the morons who don't know Liverpool and have only read about it in the 'gutter press'! This year is our 800th birthday and there's lots of extra things going on.

If i was i visitor to Britain from abroad ,then Liverpool would be my next stop after London .
Liverpool was the 2nd city of the Empire in its prime, and the citys architecture is still there to behold. It boasts a skyline that even London can't compete with ,and has an extensive Georgian landscape that is second to none in Britain.
Other great Victorian cities of the North include:Leeds.Newcastle,sheffield,and the overrated Manchester (lol) .
But the best thing about Liverpool is its people. Go to any pub ,shop ,restaurant and you will be met by real people . Citys like London and Manchester are (in my opinion) full of ignorant ,unfriendly self - loving dickheads.
Liverpudlians are born from a major port and are one of the first multi-cultural cities of the world - i love the place , an i hope you will too .

I've been to Liverpool lots of times and I love it! as a Beatles fan I spent most of my visits trolling around all the Beatle sites, but there is more to Liverpool than just that. The people there are lovely on the whole, and very friendly. In all the times I've visited I never had any trouble whatsoever. Have a great trip!

Liverpool Cathedral is blessed with one of the finest pipe organs in the world. I believe it is my favourite. It has something like a twelve-second die-away echo after your fingers leave the keys on the organ console! People who live in Liverpool and have not yet heard that magnificent pipe organ have a major treat coming their way. I fully realise this is not everyone's cup of tea, but for those of us who appreciate an instrument of its obviously high calibre, it is absolutely breathtaking. pity you cant go aug.bank hols..they close all roads and erect about 7 big stages all over city with all sorts of bands on all day and well into the night.you can choose which one you want to go to at any time...its great..only been twice but cant wait for this year

Great atmosphere; tons of nightclubs, pubns and bars; friendly locals (Avoid those in tracksuits, though - known as 'scallies', they tend to enjoy causing trouble); the docks... among other things.

It's also the European Capital of Culture for 2008. I love Liverpool, always have done and always will!

As a Mancunian who lived in Merseyside for 14 years, I would say yes. I found most Scousers to be very friendly (I have to say RockManRock, above, does not sound like most Scousers I've met - I found no problem with people in Liverpool coming from Manchester - this guy sounds a bit of a tosser - but ignore him, most Scousers are sound) and I made a lot of good friends there. The dock side is really nice, there's a lot of building work going on there right now - but most of that will be completed by September - all to do with Liverpool winning the 2008 European City of Culture bid. There are excellent museums and art galleries, good pubs etc - it's agreat city!
If you're there for a weekend you might also take in Chester (historic Roman city) and even pop over to Manchester - it'd be good to show you that Mancunians are as much 'salt-of-the -Earth' as Liverpudlians!
