well...I didn´t like London at all, but that´s just my opinion. There are lots of places that people visit just because they´re on a list of things to see. However.. there are some buildings worth seeing. Certainly go to the Tate Museum of contemporary art!

Come to London, its got a lot to offer, can be expensive, if you want cheap grub go to a little restaurant just off the Haymarket called THE STOCKPOT its in Panton Street, you can get a two course meal for less than £8 around £6.50, then go and walk around the shops, go to China Town go to the cinema at Leicester Square,, you don't have to stay in he centre you can go to the museums over in Kensington, lots to see and do, and it don't rain all the time, that's a myth, depends on your taste, good luck.

it depends what you like. there are many museums - and gardends - including the kew gardens.
if you like to take photo - see the london eye.
the childhood museum and the design museum.
buy tickets for several attractions.
but first - look in the net, if it will interest you...
i am not living in england - but i liked it more than other cities.
and - you can also see places about 1 hour from london.
one time - it is not enough (i think).
go to several website and ask their newletter. you will see if you something to see - depend on your interests.
...and they speak English...(most of them.at least...)

If you want a relaxing break deffinately not but if you want shopping or tousrity things to do there are loads!
Go to the Tate Modern, St Pauls Cathedral, London Eye and loads of other stuff.
Coming from a Londoner, I don't think it's very exciting but maybe for a visitor it is...
Watch out though.. It's VERY expensive!!!
Have fun if you come though =)

Yeah it's nice, I live there. Be warned it's an expensive place to stay though.

There are plenty of places to go. It depends what you want - shopping? museums? nightlife?

When you are here, visit Camden market (to take in the atmosphere as much as to buy stuff), if you are in this area then maybe check out Regent's Park on the same day, it's a lovely park, visit some museums cos they are all free (try South Kensington, which has the Science, Natural History and V&A museums all in close proximity).

If you want to experience London nightlife, don't go out around the very central part where there's no atmosphere and you will get ripped off, but try Brick Lane for restaurants (if you like curry) and bars (v trendy, lots of young people), Shoreditch (close to Brick Lane, similar) or Islington (Angel underground station) for a more civilised vibe.

Places to avoid: Maddam Tussaud's - massive queues, extortionate entry price, not worth the bother. Leicester Square - There is nowhere good to eat or drink here. Camden Town at night - can be fun, but be warned it is quite rough.

Incidentally, my personal recommendation for a great city to visit is BERLIN - fascinating history, great nightlife, and really cheap.

Sorrento and Capri would be better.

YES!! but go there in the summer, the weather is generally very bad in the fall and winter.
London has so much fantastic shopping! It's got lots of musicals (if you're into theatre) nice restaurants, sightseeing, good clubs and the people are nice! I would definitely recommend it.

It's a nice place to visit but it can be expensive, though it doesn't necessarily have to be. London has some great historical buildings, theatre, concerts, nice places to eat and a fair number of parks, as well as more touristy things such as shopping and doing guided tours. So there is pretty much something for everyone here.

Where to go really depends on what you're into and how long you have. If you only have a weekend I'd suggest you stay relatvely central and maybe to a guided tour, maybe one of the amphibious "duck" tours which are busses that also go into the Thames. Take a look at somewhere like www.lastminute.com for inspiration. Places like www.lastminute.com is also useful for cheap deals at top restaurants (how else am I going to get three courses at Quagalinos for £20!)

Have fun!

Where do you live?? I live in New England (Boston, MA-USA) and have visited London and loved it! I found it to be a very fascinating city and the people and history are very interesting. American history seems so boring in comparison! Enjoy it while you are there. I am looking forward to going back again!
