I didn't think the UK in itself was a country because obviously there's 4 countries (or 3 1/2) within the UK but Ive heard people call London the 'capital of the UK' is this official or are people just confusing the UK with England itself? |

(Edinburgh for Scotland, Cardif for Wales and Belfast for Northern Ireland)
London is also where the government of the United Kingdom meet (Parliment) and the UK is governed from there, so in that respect it is the capital of the UK.
The (labour) government conceded and gave Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland mickeymouse governments - answerable to London to keep the locals there a little quieter (and keep the politicians in their jobs), but it is still all run from London really. |

Belfast the capital of Northern Ireland.
Under the Acts of union though the 3 minor countries Scroteland, Ireland, and wales are subject to the auhority of parliament(English dominated and has always been located in London) In agreeing the union Scotland were given 30 seats in the Houses of Parliament which was a fair price when you consider that Mary Queen of Scots had already sold the country to the french anyway |
