You will be able to understand Scots providing you get used to the fact that stupid people there talk without moving their mouths. I forgive you for mistaking Scotland for a part of England because you are a Dumb American.

Andrew M
As a Scot...I always thought that England was a part of Scotland!

You are clearly not dumb, or American - you just like asking monumentally stupid questions to see what reaction you get.
You are probably a teenage boy sat in your bedroom giggling quietly to yourself.

Get a life loser!

Don't worry what the other people are saying..just ignore them. Scotland is another country itself but Scotland and England make up the United Kingdom as well as Ireland and Wales =D

No we are on the same island but are different countries like canada and usa.

No it's not part of England but it is part of the United Kingdom. Scotland has it's own government.

If you are confused just think of America and Canada. They are both part of North America BUT different countries.

Scotland is also not part of England because they have their own queen and prime minister.

I hope this will anwser your question.

Scotland is part of the UK so if you have a visa for the UK you can visit Scotland, England and Wales.
The Scottish have an accent but do speak English.
Some of the Scottish Islands speak Gaelic but I don't imagine you are going to the Scottish Islands.

GingerGrouse
Nope.

The United Kingdom is made up of 4 countries: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The largest island has England, Scotland and Wales. Northern Ireland is part of the island called Ireland. The other country there is called the Republic of Ireland.

Scotland, England ,Wales and Northern Ireland are all part of Great Britain.
Great Britain is made up of different countries (like the US is made up of all the states). So Scotland and England are two seperate countries, but are both part of Great Britain.

mark
Scotland is part of the United Kingdom where Americans do not need a visa to enter.
In Scotland they speak english with a heavier accent.

Global Geezer
Yippee, Dumb American does it again. I have a suggestion for you. Why don't you venture to Scotland and ask some Scottish people if Scotland is part of England. It will be a good experience for you...but I don't think you'll like their reactions too much!

Jaz
duurrr! no way!!!

clubber20_06
Uk is 4 countries: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Scottish people speak English, but you do have the gaelic speakers too, but they are further up Scotland, in the North. Most people who speak gaelic also speak English though, so it wont be hard..

AMY L
i dont think you need a seperate visa at the end of the day if u have a visa for the uk scotland is in the uk, and yes they speak english
hope that helps
good luck

no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! were both british thats all!!!!! and scots speak english badly!!! lol

No. Scotland and England make up the British Isles with Wales and Ireland.

Pixy Fish
Scotland is a separate country, but is part of the same unit, if you get my drift. The only "scotch" phrases there are: "och aye!" "hoots mon" and, of course, "HAGGIS!"

ps: I am not sterotyping out of nastiness, i am scotish. this dumb *** only seems to understand sterotypes.
