They r called Pound City. All over the place, but a lot of things they sell actually cost more than Â£1.

It is true...everything in it costs a pound. Actually it is easy for middle class snobs like me to take the pi*s out of it, but for stuff like cleaning materials it is brilliant!

There are pound land's around Hertfordshire. There is one on Watford High Street. I am sure there are many more.

I think there is a POund Land in Leeds in the Crossgates shopping centre . Although it may have closed coz I remember going in and only certain things were a pound! Probably sued for false advertising.

They sell everything a pound and it's a bargain. Sometimes you can buy two items for a pound. There are plenty up in yorkshire and Nottinghamshire.
There are even 99p shops nowadays

As for Hertfordshire, I'm fairly sure there is a Poundland in Watford. Maybe on Market Street?

Yes - great places. You should target their head office to get one where you live. It attracts 'posh' folk like magnets so nowhere is too posh for them. Lots of things you just couldn't believe could be only Â£1. Saying that some of their biscuits etc you can get cheaper in supermarkets.

Most city centres have something similar. They're not all Pound Lands, some are Pound Stretchers, some are "Everything's Â£1", some are (strangely) called "What?!".

Yep!! Poundland....The Pound shop....Everything For a Pound....there are loads of these shops scattered about, and yes.....eveything is priced at a pound!!!

yupp, there is a PoundLand in huddersfield ... actaully there are 3 different ones in Huddersfield, which i've notcied while passing through and some in Oldham aswell

Yes, I thought they were all over the place.
All major citys and towns have them.
When you said you never heard of them, I thought you might live abroad or something. It's a very well known store all over UK.
Pound land, Pound plus and 99p stores.
Most of their stock comes from abroad with foreign languages on, and some stock could have a short shelf life.
That's why it's cheap.

I don't think its a chain really just lots of seperate shops that sell stuff for a pound, they are probably all called similar like pound shop, poundland, 99p store etc.

Well there are shops called Pound Land and we have one locally. Of course as the name suggest everything in the shop is Â£1.00
