Blackpool is now a dump and a rip off.The last time I visited, under duress, was charged £1 for a cone of chips and there were 9 chips i it.

Blackpool is great for a weekend there is plenty do for adults and kids but i wouldn't recommend it for longer than a weekend it would work out cheaper to go abroad

Some parts of Blackpool have been modernised especially the car parking facilities near the south pier where the fair ground is. There are generally still parts that look outdated in need of regeneration but it depends what you want out of Blackpool. Weekends can be off putting by the drunken louts falling out of the pub doorways on to the street and pewking up all over the place. If however you just want a nice stroll then the front is flat with no hills so it is ideal for pushing wheelchairs, pushchairs or cycling. You do have to watch the young skateboarders though as they can sometimes be a bit of a menace hanging out in gangs intimidating people.

It needs a good coat of paint. Looks a right dump.

I liked it when I was eighteen and again when I was in my fifties.

It depends on what you want to know for?

I lived there for two years whilst at College, and could quite easily have not got anywhere near the fairground or beaches. (Well, until Morrisons opened, but by visiting there in the morning I avoided the idiots coming to drink and throw up...)

And then I lived in the town centre with my ex, and had to put up with the pi@@heads at the weekends, so we moved nearer to Cleveleys.

But if you want to spend a weekend with drinkers on the pull, and thats your sort of thing, you'll love it too.

Blackpool is a nice place to go. There's lots to do and if you have children they'd love it because of the beach, Pleasure Beach, Sandcastle and all the shops and arcades.

Went there once, never again. A COMPLETE DUMP!

The Oracle
Do you enjoy constant badgering by street merchants?
Do you know that Blackpool is "stop-over city" for Glaswegians?
When you go out at night, are you thrilled at the prospect of large stag and hen parties sharing the evening with you?
Do you know there is a night club with a revolving dancefloor, so you can stay in the same place and "admire" all the "talent" available before making your selection of a pissed up a drugged up Chav?

If you enjoy all these things, then Blackpool is nice.

And to think, when I was a small child (30 or so years ago!) (Avery small child!!!) I used to go there on holiday! How times have changed.

It depends on what you want to go for.
Roller coasters and fairground - you will have a great day out.
Hen or stag party in the bars and clubs at night to get wasted - you will have a great time.
Gentle stroll or drive along the prom to see the illuminations - great fun especially in an open car.
Family holiday - forget it.

I have been once and would never go back. People trying to sell you things as you take a walk. I think it lives up to its name.

I prefer my own country of Scotland :)

Have never done Blackpool, but if you like the sort of Kiss me Quick hat and candy floss type of seafront, then there's no doubting that Blackpool has it all - including the saucy post cards, the world famous Blackpool Tower and Ball Room and the Golden Mile and trams and, and, and etc.

To be honest, Blackpool is a major attaction for the working class. My advice is, if you don't like us Common Folk, then don't bother with Blackpool.

..right, we'll we're off to Brighton for the day. Now where's the bucket and spade...Mable...you ready? The coach has arrived...
