Glasgow is a city, although many not Brits do refer to Scotland as Glasgow, as Glasgow is by far the largest city and only major city in Scotland.

As for one of the replies above, Glasgow is not in the north east, that’s Aberdeen! Glasgow is in the south-west of Scotland.

And A for the idiot who said it was like a 3rd world country, maybe you should visit a 3rd world county you will see what REAL poverty is, until then shut-up!

With your snobby post I can guess what part of Scotland you are from…

Its people like you that need to get the facts right and learn that Scotland’s 6 most affiliate areas are all in Glasgow, you know that big city with the highest house prices etc in the country.

I wish Glasgow was an independent country, idiots in our parliament in the east are constantly holding this great city back.

Glasgow is not a country, it's a city in Scotland (UK). The world's smallest country is the Vatican! See here: http://www.vatican.va

Greetings from Germany...

I take it that you are not Scottish?!

Glasgow is a town, within a county, within a country.

Diana

Its near Italy if you want to locate it in Map.
