all of them mate, the whole country is non smoking in pubs, clubs, restaraunts, any where public, but you go to these places and you have to walk through it to get in has everyone goes outside the doors, they should have stopped that aswell, and im an ex smoker gave the dreaded weed up 2 years ago after 30 years of it, and i found it really easy. but thats me.

Smokers have to use a space outside e.g. a special shelter at the back of a pub.

it is now a legal requirement that all pubs be non smoking, therefore any pub you stop at, at the west end will in fact be non-smoking.

Your second question, It really depends on how much you want to spend, but if you are looking for something really cheap then, there is a fairly international hostel at hendon central (which is in north west london)

I have stayed at St Martin's and it is quite nice but costs 400.00 a night. I also heard that One Aldrich is similarly nice.
Some people like the Waldorf. St Matrin's is next to GymBox a workout place where they have excersise equip arround a boxing rink. London is priced to make you feel like royalty when you pay the bill (I guess). There are probably lots of better things to do in London than smoke. Take a walk past Trafalger square. Go to evensong at church and listen to the holiday music.
