Birmingham's a marvellous place. It's like London without the conspicuous consumption or pretentiousness or a landlocked version of Britain's best city, Glasgow.
Also, the accent that everyone thinks they know and hate is a Black Country accent, not a Birmingham one, and there's nothing wrong with either accent. They're just very distinctive. |

Loads of things. They are funny, generous, they gave us Jasper Carrot, and they don't moan about other people.
Actually...that last thing makes them my favourites above all others in this country!!!!!!! |

alot of people from bham (like me) actually don't speak in the typical "brummie accent". Birmingham is actually a good place- we have a good town centre, which is improving by the second, and the Bullring shopping centre, which attracts alot of tourists. Birmnigham has a good night life to suit different people. The town centre is quite big, and has alot to offer in terms of shops and people...also, other places, such as soluhull and northfield are just a bus journey away. :D |

I think that Birmingham is a lovely place particually the city centre, me and my boyfreind have been there regualy now and I love it! Shops are great too. There is nothing wrong with the Birmingham accent - and I think the some people are dissing it and being streotypical about the people. |

Yes, there is a lot right with the second city. It has been developed a lot over the last 10 years and they have got rid of that bullring. They have two good Premier league clubs and Edgbaston Cricket ground.
Also, I do like the accent. You cannot get angry at a Brummie!! |

My best mate is a Brummie, he's never let me down |

birmingham is cool and there have been some good rock bands from there and the old bull ring was cool even the market though it has changed a bit now it is still ok so go ;look again and refresh your mind man
i know loads of birmingham peeps and they too are ok
and loads of things have come from there ie motorbikes cars, and um let me think now |

'Er indoors!!

It's not full of spiteful people for starters.
I have lived next door to a Birmingham family, and they were lovely. I now live next door to an awful London couple, who actually believe they own the Cornish people. They have lived in my village for under 2 years, and just push people around.I just wish they would bugger off back to London.
May I ask,is there anything good about you? |

Brummies are friendly people and Birmingham is a really cool city with loads to do and see, why so negative about it?? |

Plenty!
It's UK central so it's easy to get to places.
We are the second city (sorry Manchester, it's NOT you)
It has a vibrant cultural and ethnic mix which is (largely) harmonious
I'm from here!
It's Europe's shopping capital dontcha know
Brummies can rise above adversity despite being pigeonholed as thick by smallminded cretins who judge people on their accents. |

Yeah Villa, Blues, Baggies and living 100miles away from that pile of crap London. I could go on but i have already proved my point!!! |

The Rotunda, just like Brummies take some knocking over !
They are certainly understandable, somewhat different to other areas round the UK.

Home of The Mother's Club, alas I think it may be closed now. Brummies have done their bit, they used to make some funky motorbikes and lime green cars with brown plastic trim and surely everyone loves Noddy Holder and Lenny Henry. |

Birmingham is the best city. its much cheaper than London has just about the same amount of facilities.
also not all brummies have a strong accent like me.
i have not got a brummy accent and i was born and bred here.
loving it here
different cultures, colours and religions but everyone still gets on
oh the bullring is a really big tourist attraction with really good shops. |

Of course!
We get bad press because some people are so ignorant of us. We get judged by our accent. How shallow is that!
Brummies are kind, hard working, trustworthy. We have
a wonderful city. Appreciate the arts, and encourage our
children to do like so.
We have the best curry houses. We have Chinatown. etc.etc.etc.
Oh - we don't mind giving our seats up for people on the bus.
And a few miles up the road we have Stratford on Avon. Where we meet people of all cultures. Now then asker
Where the hell do you come from? |

Well, there is the Snakepit club....think it is in Brummagen, 12 min drive outside city centre. There's one in Leeds an' all, owned by the same Family |
