You are right there is St George's cross for England (red up and down) and St Patrick's cross for Ireland (diagonals in red) and St Andrew's cross for Scotland (blue with white diagonals) but nothing for St David, no St David's cross (black background with yellow up and down), so no Welsh part, but cop a load at the link. |

It used to be united with England like hundreds of years ago.
this is the proposed Union Jack with Wales:

but no word if it'll be used.
The red diagonal cross on top of the St. Andrew's is St Patrick's cross, as Ireland used to be in the UK, so that represents N. Ireland |

The English flag, the Scottish flag and the Northen Ireland flag make up the United Kingdom flag. I totally agree with you that there is no connection or involvment of the Welsh flag.
I think that the United Kingdom flag should be changed to include the Welsh flag.
The Northen Ireland part is the red diagonal cross. |

It is made up up of the individual Flags of three of the Kingdoms countries all united under one Sovereign, the countries of England, of Scotland and Northern Ireland since 1921 only Northern Ireland has been part of the United Kingdom. As Wales was not a Kingdom but a Principality it was not included on the flag. |

The union jack should be changed to have something welsh involved with it too. |

Its because Wales has been a dominion of England for hundreds of Years. Scotland and Ireland never had the same status. Also the Northern Irish flog is the red cross like the english one but on a different angle. |

Think how difficult it'd be for everyone to draw a dragon everytime they drew a Union flag!
I know it sucks if you're Welsh, but I can't draw dragons! I'd have to move to France- I can draw their flag. |

Yes it is and so is Northern Ireland (The United Kingdom if Great Britain and Northern Ireland). To be honest we should probably put a dragon or something on there but i guess it's kinda difficult to change a flag... |

Wales is a Principality not a Kingdom. There should be a dragon on the flag really.
The stripes represent England Scotland and Northern Ireland.
This is what it would look like with a Welsh stripe

Wales had been 100% conquered by the English and had no rights of their own.Scotland however was difficult to suppress,so cleverly the English suggested a union and to persuade them they said it would be an equal union and so the scottish flag would be inserted into english one.The scots were won over and the flag changed. If they could have been conquered in the same way as the welsh then their flag would also have been omitted in the same way as the welsh |
