Well, i suppose they do come in usefull for coal, and leeks, but then, we can buy the coal from other countries, and leeks are filth, so your probably right it is a bit pointless ! lol

NO Wales is the best place in the world because I live there!!! x

Briallen
What an exceptionally strange question! As one who lives in Wales I can assure you that it is the most significant place in the world to me and all other places exist only with reference to my knowledge and understanding of my homeland. It has the oldest living European language and an amzing culture. Pointless? I think not!

GrahamH
Pointless to whom?
When it comes to something like free prescriptions for all it is England that is out in the cold. Anyone over 60 can also travel anywhere within Wales by bus for free. And we've just had a Welshman beat an American over 12 rounds in the USA - very difficult.

recycling
I love the place, and Im a Geordie!!! cant understand their lingo, but the feeling is possibly mutual

Angyles
I live in Wales and I love it :-)

If your English your only proving what most of us Welsh, Scottish and Irish say about you. Without wales. England's existance wouldn't be today so if i were you i'd shut your cake hole. America wouldn't be here either if it wasn't for the Welsh.

Our coal industry and water is enough to power you while you take out of our country and give nothing back now you are being and we are taking advantage of this you have the cheek to moan and say you are subsidizing us .

Also we want Independence from you. Ry'n ni moyn annibyniaeth wrthoch chi. Moch budr

Dirty Pigs.

Cymru, Iwerddon, Cernyw, Mannaw, Llydaw a'r Alban am byth
Wales, Ireland, Cornwall, Isle of Man, Brittany and Scotland for ever.

EDIT - Evina p it's Amlwch lol that's how it's spelt not Amlwych

Also the welsh hating the English isn't pointless. Most English hate the Welsh, Scottish and Irish when we've done nothing to you. You invaded our country tried to kill our language, Rapped and murdered our people. Burned our villages and you telling me our hatred towards you is pointless.

Difference with England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland is that we the Welsh, Scottish and Irish are educated on our history whereas you aren't because it's convenient for you to forget what a horrible past your nation has and what it has done to others.

Well it's there and if you think it's silly, why not just change it's name? It all depends on what you call silly and why you may take a trip there. I go about three times a year to North Wales for SUPER DUPER biking roads. There is of course beautiful scenery and soooo quiet it hurts your ears!. There are the big dams, all built by hand and one of them brought water from North Wales (Elan Valley I think) all the way to Birmingham and the first run took about 7 days. There is the flooded valley which has houses, schools, hospitals and all the rail lines used by the people who built the dams. This can be seen if you look carefully. Of course you have the Red Kite. A great and wonderful bird of prey and you can visit the farm at Ryader where you can spot them from hides. I don't see anything pointless about Wales.
