Isnt this unfair?

im due to go to butlins with the kids. ive just found at by accident that NO NO NO babysitting is available in that week as their certs havent come through!! this means no night out for partner and i :-(
isnt this false advertising & shouldnt i be entitled to compensation?
The resort has not informed anyone else. Obviously people will only find out when they arrive.
Additional Details
YES i KNOW its a family holiday but we want to have a couple of hours in the evening out. Butlins have bars and a nightclub - whats the point in that if the babysitting isnt available. The kids are with us 24/7 at home thats WHY we booked this particular resort but it is unfair as they have withdrawn the sitting service wihtout telling anyone

Yes I feel that you should get a reduction in the cost of your stay due to the problem which is no fault of yours. I suggest you contact them before your holiday to sort something out. Remember you only booked this holiday because baby sitting was available!!!!!!!!

Yes. If they fail to provide a service that is advertised, then they will be in breech of The Sale of Goods Act 1979. Get in touch and see if they can do something for you. Good luck with it, and enjoy your hols!

I would definately follow your complaint through, particularly if you feel it will spoil the quality of your holiday, check the small print first though, they may have a get out clause somewhere which covers them for this.

people do have short memories ......... err Mcanns

Why dont you just leave them in the appartment and pop over the road and have a nice meal and a drink.......

It's a cryin' shame. Butlin's should care more about families.

Butlins is a family holiday so take them out with you. You can put them down for a nap during the day so they don't get tired and grumpy.

I can understand that you would like to spend some time with your partner, but think about the positives now you get to spend more time with your children as a family, the oppertunity might not arrise in the distant future.

Hello,

(ANS) Contact your local office of "Trading Standards" as this isn't on, its a misrepresentation if they are NOT going to provide a service they advertised.

Especially if you booked the holiday on the basis of having a childcare service or babysitting service (i.e. wouldn't have booked otherwise). This is especially relevant given the recent events in Portugal & the McCann case.

**Trading Standards should be in your local phone book or in a copy of the Thompsons Directory, or Yellow Pages.

It is indeed unfair, and also false advertising and, yes, some compensation should be in order. Maybe you can find some other couples in the same boat at your Butlin's resort and work out some sort of baby-sitting rota...
What ever happens, don't let it spoil your holiday, make sure your kids have a good time and it'll all feel worthwhile.

Top Bird..!!
when u go on hols wiv ya kids are u not supposed to enjoy the time with them....as this is a 'family' holiday...why go on holiday if you want babysitters?...can't you do this at home and enjoy the time as a family while you are away...
