Yep it really is. Today £1=6.12 argentine pesos, is that expensive? Alas, I don't know. Good luck.

It can be expensive for petrol, oil etc. But compared to Ireland it's far better value as the British Pound is far stronger than the Euro. I've found a night out in England is cheaper then Ireland as The British pubs tend to have promotions on most of the time.

STL Biker
It is very expensive there since the British pound is worth almost twice the usd

silly 123
Yes!!!!!!! It is twice as expensive as the US and you make half as much. But I love it too, I want to move there!

Yes, its very expensive compared to the US!!! Us brits get soooo ripped off and taxed to the bloody hilt!

t_maia2000
Yes, UK is expensive.

You need to plan on having at least 100 USD per day and person if you do it super-cheap like staying in hostels, eating food from the supermarket, limiting the sights you see and not partying.

If you want to move to the UK to work and live there, check out http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk and http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/

Yes it is expensive here, Gold 12 got it wrong petrol is $10 a gallon and going up, the country is going/gone to the dogs (work that one out my Argentinian friend). I would highly recommend Spain, cheaper, plenty of obliging British girls (many leave their knickers at home), weather is better, plenty of culture Madrid,Barcelona,Granada etc and above all you speak the language.
I forgot, plenty of British style pubs where you can have a cultural exchange with my compatriots, along with a "Full English Breakfast", so you`ll miss nothing.
Good Luck
