Jobs for a 13 year old?

my daughter wants a job but i don't know any apart from a paper round

Show all answers

,Sarah-x
there's not many jobs you can do at 13

*paper round
*baby sitting
*dog walking
*car washing
*sweeping hair at hairdressers
*helping local shops
*cleaning a house
*garden work (cutting grass, gardening etc)

if you have problems getting these jobs, you can put up notices in your local shop or spread the work around or even put it in a newspaper, i forgot what one it is but in a few you can put up notices

You can ask offices in your area if they want to hire a young girl to do their photocopies and looking after the post room. I am sure they will oblige. Try with major accountants and solicitors who have lots of documents to be copied from time to time.

HI. i live in the UK too and i am 13!

i think the only jobs you can get are dog walking, paper round, cleaning, washing windows/cars, and cutting lawns. may not sound glamorous but it puts bread on the table!!
hope i helped!

I'm 13 I have a paper round =)
The only thing is with papers is that they can become very boring & energy consuming. They can also take a while to wait for.
But i did consider baby sitting. But my mum doesn't know anyone with kids ages 4 - 7 so it became a problem. You could maybe get her to do cleaning for people. Dog walking and maybe gardening.
As long as you know allot of people who you could ask then you're all set! You could maybe even go with her & split the wages Ha ha

Hope This helped you!

Hi

I started working from 14 - in a coffee shop (waitress and dishwasher) and on the counter of a chinese delivery service (i worked 4-midnight after school 1 night a week, I wouldnt really recommend!).

Just ask around for her in the sort of businesses that would pay cash-in-hand.

[Scat Angel]
At 13 I had a couple of paper rounds, you can do more than one if you can get them.
You can either do the morning private delivery ones or the evening free paper rounds that I think are easier to get.
When I was 14-15 I worked at my local golf course for a few years doing odd jobs such as picking up the driving range balls.
The best advice I can give you is just try everywhere, don't be shy or afraid about asking and you may get a job you never expected that you enjoy even at a young age!

just paper rounds really. maybe a pot wash?

lil_devon_chick
i think ur best option is 2 put ur name and number into all local shops that deliver papers. also chip shops, they may need a peeler.
or maybe try putting a ad up in ur local shop saying baby sitter on tap weekends only or a few hours in the evening(as u cant do school days and nights) other than that u have ur neighbours cars and dogs? or possibly try hairdressers.! good luck in ur search. i worked in a cafe from the age of 14.......

Its best to try small cafes and places that are owned by a family, big companies and shops wont take people under 16, just make sure they're fair about her hours and pay

I don't think under 16 are allowed to work.

Instead of Job make her mind so she can learn some skills in holiday.

In future you might get some brilliant job if you have had good skills!
