I have lived in Liverpool all my life and the last time I saw a pub brawl was over 30 years ago. It leaves me to wonder where you went. Yes those of us who love Liverpool are fully aware of the problems and vices of that City, but it is also has a surprising amount of what is termed culture which you do not find very often in the pubs of this or any other city.
Essentially Liverpool attitude is one of live and let live, in other words if you do not look for trouble it is unlikely to find you. Go looking for trouble and you will sure find it
I would leave the clever snide comments aside and I have never had my wheels nicked or been mugged so I do wonder where some of these people went.
I seem to remember that Glasgow had to put up with stupid people with a ready sneer |

Well you obviously went to a dodgy area, so what were you doing in a dodgy area eh ? Everywhere in the world has a not so nice bit, guess you found it. Go where the culture is and the nice areas then you will not be disapointed |

well why not? glasgow got it in 1990 i think. ever been to glasgow? its a ****** shitehole. the honour of european city of culture means nothing to the people who live there, the only people who profit are the big wigs in the council as for the rest of the city they represent they can go hang as far as they're concerned. |

Liverpools are very big city and extremely worthy of the title Capital of Culture due to all the hard work they have put into gaining it.
Any city in the UK has it downsides. In fact, any city in the world does. |

I hear that because Liverpool is the city of culture this year, when they nick the wheels off of cars they are going to leave the cars on books instead of bricks. |

I took my grandfather to watch Liverpool play . We walked into the ground amongst the Liverpool supporters. His wallet went missing. He was 67 and spoiled his holiday. I always rejoice when they lose. He was visiting this country for the first time and took all his cash. |

Have you noticed how loyal Liverpudlians are to their city, yet most move away. City of culture, my a r se!.
Even the shoplifters are considered part of the culture, along with muggers, thieves, car-jackers etc.
I have to go there everyday and it depresses me.
Hey Daisy
I go to Liverpool everyday to teach at the young offenders institute - be seeing you soon!. |

I landed at John Lennon airport last night on a Boeing 737 for an overnight stop. When we came back to board the aircraft this morning, it had no wheels and it was stood on bricks! |

Whoever said that Liverpool people were funny, LIED. name me one funny Liverpool comedian? You can't can you? Full of thieves, bag-heads and people who think they are the most wonderful people in Britain, when in fact they are the most despised with that stupid spitting put on accent. |

I lived in Liverpool for 3 years and I can see easily why it got the Capital of Culture. Although I was devastated Newcastle didn't win the titile. I heard a little rumour that the decision was made for political reasons. Labour will always have a stronghold in the north east but not so in the north west. I'm not bitter though. |

Yeah you are right. I am afraid of going to Liverpool. Got mugged there twice. So Culture Capital thing ain't gonna help. |

I wouldnt go anywhere near this dump. Drugs, crime & shootings galore, also the native accent is the most irritating one on Earth. |
