Just take your letter in an airmail envelope (available from any postoffice) to a post office and hand it over to them. They will do the rest to ensure your letter arrives safely.

You have to take it to the post office to be weighed. They will then tell you how much you have to pay |

Step 1. You write the letter, stick it into an envelope and seal the envelope. Write his name and address on the front of the envelope and write your name and address either on the back of the envelope OR on the top left hand corner at the front of the envelope (this is in case your mail doesn't reach his address, it will then be returned to you). If you use an airmail envelope (these have the red, blue, white stripes for a border and a label "by air mail" printed on it), you are set to get a stamp. If you use a plain envelope, then either write "By Air" somewhere on the envelope or get a sticker for it at the post office.
Step 2. Go to a post office, get the letter weighed and get the correct postage stamp for it. Unless your paper is very thick or if you write pages and pages worth, the stamp should not cost you more than a quid. Once you get the stamp, paste it on the top right-hand corner on the front of the envelope. If you paste it anywhere else, the machine that scans it won't be able to do so, and then your mail will have to be manually sorted. That is where your mail might get lost.
Step 3. Put it in the mailbox for "Other Countries" or "Overseas" or whatever the label is other than "Local"
That's it.
(I found the royal mail website if you want to look at the stamp prices). |

Walk into the post office and say, "I need to post this to canada"...then they weigh it...tell you how much it costs...you pay them...they stick the air mail stamps on and then they send it. |

Go to the post office. Say "hi I'd like to send this to Canda". They'll tell you to put it on the scale then take it off. They'll then charge you a ridiculous amount of money and send it for you. Happy days. |

Seriously? You just write the address on the front, including Canada, then take it to the post office, they will stick an airmail sticker on it. You may have to pay a pound or so to send it. Your family need never know, unless they work at the post office :) |

That is just like posting a normal letter, you write the address on it and everything but instead of posting it in a post box, you can go to your local post office and request to send it to Canada, they will charge you around £1-£2, I'm unsure of the exact price but it won't be much more that £2.00
Hope I helped. |

Take your letter to the post office & say you want to send it to Canada. Once it's weighed on the scales nearby he/she will give you a 1st class stamp & an airmail sticker to put on it & will cost you a pound or two. |

Start with a pen or crayon and a bit of paper. Put some marks on the paper then seal it in an envelope with his address scrawled on it then go to the post office.
