Depnds most probably on where you will be able to get work most easily. You could start off in London and then work out where you want to go from there.

I would recommend buying a guide book and see if there are particular towns.cities/areas that appeal.

Do you want countryside? city? seaside? Do you have any connections with areas? Have you been to anywhere before?

Like France the availability of jobs will vary greatly between areas.

Bon chance!

Tango
Stay where you are in France, there is nothing in this country left to be proud of.

London, then you can get the eurostar and be back home in 2 and a 1/2 hours everytime you feel lonely!!!

Don't ask, I'm confused

Stay at home we don't want you here.

I have to wonder why anybody that isn't an illegal immigrant or an asylum seeker would want to move here. The country is finished and is swamped with the dross of the world.

What do you want to move to the UK for? It is dead expensive to live here your better staying were you are at in france.

If you must live over here then I suggest you try manchester or Harroagte leeds, london, or even in the midlands

I think any where in the UK will be a great place to be. WE have our rough bits (most city's do ) My husband moved here from America 5 years ago and he loves it. If you smoke you best stay where you are. If your going to be one of them people who move here and then b*&*y moan about the place well stay home. Were not perfect but were pretty dam good. Where to live depends on your age and what your looking for.good luck and hope the move works out for you

England:

Oxford. It has a thriving local economy (aside from the university, BMW have a major plant there, and there is a science park and a nuclear research facility in the vicinity) and it is on the edge of the Cotswolds, a truly beautiful rural area, and it is fairly handy for trains to London.

Kendal in the the English Lake District. Simply beautiful. Full of literary associations. Major employers are mainly retail, I think.

Dorset for the countryside and the coast.

Cornwall for small villages near the sea. A thriving art scene.

Scotland:

Inverness. Lakes and mountains. Edinburgh - thriving, cultural.

Wales:

If you're looking for solitude and castles and beautiful landscapes. Cardiff is the major city.

Never been to Northern Ireland but I understand that it is going through an economic and cultural renaissance due to peace and European money.

I can only speak from experience. I live in the Southwest - in Dorset. I've been here for 5 years and I love it.I live near Weymouth where the Condor ferries run to the Channel Islands - I don't know if you being French would help you get work with them.
J'espere que cela vous aide, et bonne chance.

Don't move to the UK - simple answer! We have hardly any economy left, we're being invaded left, right and centre so there's no work and the general UK public are a bunch of down and out's who refuse to work for a living and it's costing us a bomb to fund them all. Seriously, don't move here; I'd rather live in the Gaza Strip than here!

Yes. Stay home.

I love Britain, I've travelled all over the world and it just makes me love my home country more. I've lived in cities and in the country and I love it all, the people are mainly tolerant and have a great sense of humour. London is a good starting place for jobs and culture, but I love the South West - Dorset, Devon, Somerset. Cornwall is pretty but expensive and there are not many jobs paying well. I've never been anywhere as lovely as my home county Devon.

The UK is England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland altogether.
I would say England, more work.
