My sister has traveled all of Europe, and she said all the personal hygeine is terrible, the french are worst?

Are they low on water in Europe or are they just plain lazy when it comes to cleanliness....Im just curious to know whats with it and the Europeans...

Your sister was lucky enough to have the opportunity to travel all over Europe, and all she noticed was THIS??

Nothing about the fascinating cultural wonders?

Nothing about the ancient, beautiful cities?

Nothing about the amazing natural beauty?

Nothing about the many interesting people?

She sounds like the kind of person who gives Americans a bad name!

I spent some time in England, and it was lovely!

EVERYONE I met was clean, kind, intelligent, humorous and generous.

They took me into their homes, and showed me many wonderful things.

The people I met on the street and in the shops were a delight!

I would take the chance to go back ANY time!

Tell your sister to stay home if she is such a spoiled whiner!

miss_jojo
Really? That's like saying all Americans are fat. Maybe she should spend less time in nighttrains, public toilets and airport lounges - on a five hour layover - next time...

deal
I thought us americans were the worst compared to everyone else...well not hygeine just our atitude...haha...well....i guess it must be in parts of the lower-class europe because if you go to paris you won't find that kind of stuff.

I am assuming that you come from the United States the filthiest public toilets I have had the unfortunate experience of are at various bus stations in the US the worst being in San Diego, excrement was plastered on the floor walls and doors, every toilet was filled to overflowing and the stench was nauseating I got out quicker than I entered. across Europe there are franchises for the cleaners and in many the toilet is wiped before you enter and again when you leave, of course if your sister is a superstar then nothing will be good enough

Europeans have always had bad hygiene. This dates to the first Spaniards in Mexico, they used to write in their diaries they believed the natives had some sort of skin disease since they would all bathe twice daily. But this was just Mexican hygiene, we used to bathe once we got up and after a day of work, and we still do. This was jsut unheard for Europeans, and I'm guessing it still is.

ernie_fergler
It is the habit of many Europeans not to bathe as often as we Americans do. C'est la vie.

I was in Belgium 10 years ago and I too noticed a lot of body Oder over there, I believe it is just how they live there lives.

I don't know about for europe but why she is telling this answer. she is only travelled, but didn't stay in that europe

Simon
What complete rubbish! I'm from Europe and there are no differences between European cleaning habits and American.

The Lone Gunman
Sorry, but that is complete rubbish. Europeans are fastidious about cleanliness. The French may be the worst at some things, but football, rugby, making wine, and cleanliness are not among them.
