Nice places close to Dudley....?

I`ll be for a 1 week holiday next week and the hotel is situated in the centre of Dudley, I know Dudley is not very nice (in fact I`m only going there to vist my wife`s parent) I would like you to give me a small list of towns or villages that I should visit that are close to dudley and which I can go by bus

Dudley itself isn't too good - but there are lots of good places to visit around the area. I agree, Bridgnorth is really nice, Telford is also good for things to do, i.e. ice skating, etc, but both those places are a bit far by bus. Birmingham isn't too far by bus, and has improved so much in the past few years - there are lots of things to see and do there now (museums, Sea Life centre etc)

Closer to the centre of Dudley, try the Black country living museum (you can go down the old mines etc and its quite interesting). There's also the zoo and castle to visit, as well as Merry Hill Centre if you like a bit of shopping. West Midlands safari park is only about a half an hour drive too.

Although its an industrial area, if you manage to escape the centre of Dudley the surrounding area's not as bad as you expect!! Enjoy...

Birmingham is close by, they have the new shopping centre (probably not of interest if you are male). You could go to Cadbury World or there are a few museums in Birmingham City Centre. You could go for a walk in Clent, there are lots of nice pubs there. There is Merry Hill (aka Merry Hell) in Brierly Hill if you like undercover shopping in chain stores. Apart from that I can't suggest anything apart from avoiding Wolverhampton and Walsall.

yeah, theres the temple of doom which is a nice plae to go to.

OK, black country museum, it's a must.... Dudley Zoo is OK, Baggeridge country park near Sedgley is good, (I was there last weekend), Bridgnorth is worth a trip., if you like shopping then you have the "Merry Hill Centre" one of the UK's largest malls... that should full a week for you LOL.

jennijan
West Midland Safari park is a great day out and not too far away.
Also, shopping in Telford is good and near.
Apart from that, you have my sympathy hunny bunny.Make the most of the hotel bar!!
