I never used to like living in the UK, then I moved to France for a few months as part of my degree. I loved living in France (and I could happily live there again), but it made me realise that there are things I love about the UK. Since then I've been pretty happy living here.
I have lived in Maidstone, Wolverhampton (those two I left before I was even 5), Stoke-on-Trent, Swansea (for my degree), and now I live in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Newcastle is an amazing city and right now I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
Right after I did my degree I was planning on moving to Ireland, for no particular reason. I had been to Ireland a fair few times, have Irish friends, and I had no other plans after graduation so I thought 'why not?', but it never happened. I don't regret that at all.
As for the USA, I have been there quite a lot. The first time I went, I visited a penfriend in Atlanta, so I feel I saw the US from the perspective of someone living there rather than just as a tourist. Since then, I have been to New York City, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Boston & surrounding area, Charleston WV, Charlotte & Wilmington NC, Dallas, New Orleans, Denver, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Portland OR, and San Francisco. It's such a varied and beautiful country, and, just as there are things I dislike about the UK, there are things I hate about the US, but I have had lots of positive experiences and I have a couple of American friends.
Would I like to live in the US? Maybe. But I'm very happy living in the UK so it's not really an ambition of mine. |

Of course I like living in the UK. We have so much history here and so many beautiful places to visit. Most tourists only ever visit London and yes it's probably not the most attractive of cities to see. My advice for anyone visiting the UK would be to hire a car and take 3 weeks driving around the beautiful countryside, we're only a small nation and you can drive from Lands end to the most northern tip in Scotland in 2 days. A few who live here, still haven't seen the best this country has to offer, most people ignore what we have here. The Peak District, The lake District, Cornwall, Stone henge, Avebury...etc. Go go go, go and see them now. |

I love living in England - we have our problems just like every other country, and our weather - well you could go on all day about our changeable weather.
We have a lot of history again good and bad, we cannot change that.
Our countryside is second to none, as already mentioned in previous answer - also Yorkshire dales - our coastline - a lot of English people overlook what a beautiful country we actually have.
I went to London many years ago and didn't like it much, you cannot rate England going of the standards of London.
Try coming North of Watford, you will see some fanastic countryside and meet some of the friendliest people.
I have been to US once a long time ago - took the kids to Florida back in 1991
Would love to visit Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, New York I could go on and on.
If you are ever thinking of visiting UK - try not going to the usual spots and explore a little - you will love it |

Generally I love living in the UK, however our Goverment is making life tough for us.
In the US, I have been to DC, FL and NY. Of all of them NYC was my favourite and I could happily move there, however there is the saying 'the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence'! |

I like living in the UK. It has it's downsides, but it's home at the end of the day, and few countries are perfect. In fact I think we have it pretty good compared to some.
I have been to the USA twice - New York and Fort Lauderdale. I loved New York, I'd really like to go back there one day. |

Hate UK.
Been to Seattle and Florida.
Plan to come over and backpack my way around the rest of the States.
And eventually move there. I'm infatuated with the place. It has everything.
Once again. Hate the UK. Can't stand it. Moving as soon as i can. |
