The London Eye on the south bank. Tate Modern, The Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, the V & A. Portobello rd on a Saturday. Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens, Kensington Palace. Soho, Chinatown and Camden Market on the weekends. Enjoy your trip!

science museum and the natural history museum... (over the road) the V&A

the british museum... then go for tea in chinatown... all you can eat for five quid..beware it'll be full of aussie backpackers..and a trip on the eye.. go as teh light is fading and youll see london come to life before your eyes... impressive.

and the cost, (apart from food and transport) less than 20 quid.. the museums are free! enjoy.

The Tate Modern and the Natural History Museum are great places to go if you like art and dinosaurs. The Natural History Museum is so big that I never got a chance to see everything there though :(
If you want something different, why not try Madam Tussauds or the Black Museum?

the tate modern is free, and has lots of interesting pieces, so u don't have to pay for ur friends

Greenwich/Blackheath. Lovely place and loads of nice pubs and restaurants. Great if its a really hot sunny day as everyone sits out on the health drinking cold beers. NICE....................!!!! :)

I have seen advertised when I was sightseeing a thing called "Frogtours" which is a yellow bus which drives into the Thames. its a boat as well as a bus. I wouldn't fancy it, Ide s*** meself!!!. I think you can book on the net but dont know the address or anything.

Some quite fun and totally random things to do too. The river is really pretty especially along Embankment so I would suggest having a drink on one of the moored boats there at some point. My favourite is called "Hispana"

Something to incorporate that might be quite interesting and a bit different if the weather is nice could be the ordinary river ferry from Westminster pier to Greenwich (the guy on it does a quite good commentary and they serve beer on the ferry too) and go to the naval and maritime museums "Where east meets West" on the date line on the top of the hill in the park, then the old foot tunnel (ancient wood panelled lifts) back under the river (site of the only underwater marathon) and get the DLR back into Bank from Island Gardens and pop into the Bank Of England Museum at the Bank of England.....

but then again it depends want to aree interested in. The Circle line pub crawl is pretty spectacular half a pint and a digital picture at each stop in the nearest pub, that might make an intereting momento although I must confess I've never got near finishing it.

One more thing but its probably too late now is request tickets for the ceremony of the keys at the Tower when they lock it up at night, thats errie

Start early (6am) at Smithfield meat market, beer and breakfast at the butchers pub. Then tour the City of London (Bank of England, Barbican etc.) Lunch at trendy stockbrokers pub. Wander over to the south bank and the Museum of the Moving image and British Film Institute. Liquid afternoon tea in Battersea in the shadow of the power station. Boat trip down the thames past the tower and HMS belfast, get off in Docklands. Early dinner and beers in the shadow of the Millennium dome. Get the tube back to the west end Cambridge circus before the queues start at the pubs (7.30ish). Then clubbing until 6am in Soho, just in time to make it for a last orders at Smithfield meat market......etc

A nice compact area to visit is around Southwark. At the southern end of the Millennium bridge is Tate Modern. At the moment its got lots of slides in it which you can whizz down - the slides come in varying lengths, the longest one winding its way down from the top gallery - and all in the name of art!! :-)

Then next door is the Globe Theatre - a re-creation of Shakespeare's theatre, there is a museum and a tour if you like that sort of thing.

Nearby on the other side of Southwark Bridge from the Globe (still South of the river) is first of all the Anchor pub - Tom Cruise has a drink there at the end of Mission Impossible. Next to that is Vinopolis - a museum dedicated to wine and yes you get to taste it too!! Then next door to that in Clink Street is the Clink museum - where the expression to be put in the Clink comes from - i.e. to be sent to prison.

Then if you keep going East you'll come to London Bridge - nearby here is Tooley Street where you can visit the London Dungeons, HMS Belfast which is an old WW2 ship, Old Operating Theatre and Herb Garret (St Thomas St) which contains an original old operating theatre (gory!), and on Borough High Street is the last Coaching Inn in London called the George - great pub is all I'll say!!

So, all of that is within about a mile of each other.

Camden Town if you haven't been I think it worth go there and see for yourself. Unusual place, very interesting market. I know you and your mates will love this town, enjoy your day trip to London
