As long as your passport is valid and unexpired, you can travel to France. There is no minimum period of time required.

I have recently traveled to France with only 3 days to spare from the day I came back into UK.
As long as you are returning to UK by the day before your passport expires, you are good to go.
6 months allowance is generally required if you are traveling to the US.

for you to visit any european country your passport needs to have at least 6 months left before it expires but i would have a word with the passport office.
If you fill passport forms in and take them to post office they will fast track them for you for a small fee this will enable you to get your passport quicker

Hi, They will not accept you if they do actually realise that is. You need an official 6 months but allow down to 3 months left. Anything less than this and you will be denied entry.
Chris
You need 6 months left on your passport. Unlucky.

I cannot speak for travel within the European Union, so if you are a UK Citizen I cannot answer this.
If you are a US Citizen, coming from the US then, generally you need six months left on your passport to get into the EU.

Legally you do not need a passport to any country in the EU. You do need ID. A passport is simply the most convenient ID we have.
