People in American always mock the way the British talk, do the British ever mock American accents?

Additional Details
when I say mock, it is not in a rude way, I meant more along the lines of imitating it.

because Americans like the way the British talk, but are too proud to admit it

My UK partners say we talk funny all the time.

America = the country
American = the adjective, or a noun referring to someone of that national/Continental origin.

I mock the way you write a sentence

valedickvale
I do not mock the way the British talk - so everyone in America doesn't mock the British. I think people who mock others are small-minded. I personally like English spoken in other accents besides American.

Of course

?
I am an American and I like the British accent!
I think most do!
We some times try to copy it because we like it!

I wish I could do it Bristol fashion!

gypsy
You have such a cheek to mock our accents, remember that we speak the Queen's English, the southern American accent is awful. I am not really aware that we mock your accents though, we , being typically British just put up with it !!!!!!!!!!!!

rochelle

You ought to hear the way Benny Hill tried to do an American accent.Hilarious.

I actually like the Brits.
I have known quite a few over the years and there are differences in the language and cultures but they are good to go in my book.
And as for the accents, Its cool with me.
I dont mind it one bit.

as an actor, i don't care to mock it - i want to emulate it. ok, so maybe i'm not authentic - yet. but practice makes perfect...

yes they mock us all the bloody time!

Stephen™
yes. they make fun of words like "awesome" "cool" "sweet" and more. they mock about american english even more than what we mock theirs.

Jugglingmidget06
Hey, ur stereotyping us americans. i for one do not mock the british accents because i love to hear them talk.

amfound2
I am saddened that you Americans mock us Brits. As far as I know I have never heard anyone mock the American accent or the American people. I do know quite few Brits who are not so keen on Mr. Bush though, but personally I like him.
Although you might like Tony Blair and most of us don't anymore!
We have American friends here and we love them very much, We enjoy learning about how you do things differently from us in many way, although we speak the same language we have words that have very different meanings.
I hope that we have always made out American friends feel at home.
Mind you, some of the American tourists who come to London and wear very loud shirts and shout to each other are a bit off putting!
But people who live here try to fit in as best as they can and we love their accents.
At the end of the day, it is NOT what accent is used, it is the content of the words, if they are nice people they will speak good things, if they are bad people they will speak bad things.
I have only known the good ones!

Crazy
Let me make one thing perfectly clear, I have the utmost respect for your country and the people in it, like everywhere there are a few that let the country down by acting dumb.

Returning to your question, I for one do not mock the accent of Americans and I quite like the different regional accents. I always thought that you Americans liked the British accents, I am surprised to hear that you don't, how sad.

the funny hting is, the americans say that the brits talk like that but i have never met anyone who could even imitate that accent let alone who actually talks like that!!! besides the americans have so many different states and different accents!!! i have heard some people say "oh my god" in an american accent though!

Abaddon
Depends on the person, honestly. The people in the UK and Europe are just like the people here in America; they have likes, dislikes and a sense of humor. For every person here in the US of A who mocks the British accent there is a person in the UK mocking an American accent.

Remember, we're all human here. We're not that different from them and they aren't that different from us. We all put our pants on the same way....Well....assuming you wear pants....and haven't found an easier way than "put legs in pantlegs and pull up until secure on butt". ;-) Take care,

~~ Abaddon
