I had a trip to London a couple of weeks ago.
I will probably get slated for this but I thought I was in the middle East.
Wow. Such a lot of foreigners.
Not that that is a bad thing.
But I was surprised. |

London is one of my favorite cities in the world!!!
I think of tubes, tea, beer, pubs, theater, city, lights, the queen, parks, loud traffic, The Texas Embassy, busy people, music, plates, Shakespeare, doc martens, green grass, trees, crowded streets, double deckers, big ben, parliament, great TV shows, and MIND THE GAP!
It is a glorious city that everyone should visit at least once! |

When I hear the name, I normally think "I'm glad that I am somewhere else".
Noisy, dirty, expensive and full of rude people. Closes down at night, which I find weird. There are some good museums, but apart from that, you can keep it.
I went for a couple of jobs in the city when I graduated. I can still remember the huge queue of men in expensive suits outside McDonald's at lunchtime. Very sad, in my opinion. |

Thank god I dont live there!!!
I think I will stick to Manchester.
Its far to busy down there and I find that its all 100 miles an hour so I will stick to a little less hectic but equally magnificent city. Manchester. |

I think of the same thing I think of for any big city. Tourists versus locals. The tourists are fond of the locals (unless they are the locals contibuting to the tourist industry) because the locals don't like the tourists. And the locals don't like the tourists because they are annoyed with these people that have come all this way to oggle over the stuff that local take for granted. The city is probably like most with dirty streets, major crowding, etc. There's likely a good bit of crime in the wrong places. And there's likely a lot of amazing things that we strangers would love to see...and if we ever do, it will probably be a once in a lifetime sort of event because we will return to our homes, which we also take for granted, but love none the less. |

umm
i think of beauty wealth and style and fun
but also
scum and danger and poverty
because london is so big and has distinct segregation
but you also see
like a posh museum with tramps sleeping nearby
such a contrast
wealth and poverty side by side |

I think of bridges, seriously. The phrases used are great "Mind your head" when getting off the tour bus etc... Cool place - I'd go back and visit again, and if you plan right you can stay there cheap. We stayed at a decent hotel and had picnics all over the city only spending $300 + the hotel Awesome deal |

Stressfull, very expensive and hectic. I do however absolutely adore the place. I'm from Newcastle so I'm used to living in a big city but London is unlike any other place I've been before. |

I've visited London before for a week during the spring & it was pretty nice; also, there was no rain at all when I went so that was convenient.
It's enriched with history & the people there are absolutely fashionable, though not as trendy as Paris. Riding the Tube was the best, though.
However, before that, I've always thought of the royal family and a bunch of really high class elite people living in London. |
