Hello, i am going to peterborough soon, for an apoinment, but i have never been before, what is it like? is it a nice place? what is there to see there i was thinking of making it a weekend away
There is a wonderful Cathedral and good shopping in Queensgate. Ferry Meadows is a great place for a walk. Flag Fen Bronze Age Centre. Sacrewell Mill ( just outside Peterborough) is an interesting place with all old kitchen appliances and an insight into the way we used to live. Serpentine Green at Hampton is a smaller shopping mall with a big Tesco`s. Showcase Cinema. The Key Theatre. Nene Valley Railway (catch it at Orton Mere near Ferry Meadows) Plenty of eating out places. If you`re in the city centre Westgate House (upstairs) is a good place for a traditional lunch. Looking for somewhere to stay? There`s lots of Guest Houses along London Road, but The Ramada Hotel (1-1/2 miles from the centre) is a nice hotel with a lovely outlook over the rowing lake, the bar is nice and homely, and it`s not toooo dear. Peterborough`s not a bad place (there are worse) but there`s a lot of Eastern Europeans here.

The Cathedral is worth visiting if you like that sort of thing.

great Cathedral and good shopping - 40 minute drive to Cambridge if you're bored! Hey, you'll either love it or hate it - no one elses opinion counts!

I'm not sure what it's got going for it, but my friend goes down there to film her craft show for the telly.
