If you're in Blaenau Ffestiniog/Porthmadog, then the steam railway is a must as are the slate caverns.
Llandudno has the ancient copper mines on the Orme as well as a frighteningly good cable-car ride up there.
Conwy (near Llandudno) is good for the Castle, shops and Butterfly World - as well as really good fish and chips.
If you're going to Anglesey, then they have 'Pili Palas' (Butterfly palace) at Fourcrosses, as well as 'Bird world' and the Sea Zoo in Brynsiencyn - but you could also go over to Dublin (Ireland) for the day from Holyhead for about £15.00 (Dublin bus tour included). Holyhead (south stack) has brilliant cliffs and seabirds as well as a lighthouse which you can tour.
Beaumaris has an unusual Castle with swans and ducks in the moat and a childrens play area. They also have a Museum of Childhood there, which is a great nostalgic trip for the "oldies".
The real beauty of North Wales is the scenery, and you can't replicate that!
[oh.. and Cadwalader's Ice Cream!] |

my grandparents lived in Conway, and I have very fond memories of that area, there is a great castle for kids to explore! |

Definitely Harlech!
The castle is lovely and the beach is spectacular. The town also offers some great places to eat with traditional Welsh food.
Enjoy! |

Henblas Farm Park (Anglesey), we've been there 3 years running (since my kids were 1 & 3). It's a lovely family run park with loads to do. Also Anglesey Sea Zoo is really good, even for the youngest child as it is all on a low level. Castles are a bit of a no-no when they are really young as there are many steep steps and high places to fall from (panic attacks from hell)!!! Mines are also out for very young children!!! Fairbourne or Barmouth beach, very sandy. Fairbourne also has it's own train that only lasts around 15 minutes - therefore ideal for young children. Snowdon may be a bit boring for a 2 year old especially as the train takes so long to get there & also is very full!!! |

Snowdonia National Park. You could take him up Mt. Snowdon on the train, I'm sure he'd enjoy that.
There's many things to do that would interest your family.
Hope you have good weather, it does rain quite a lot there, but it's a beautiful part of the country. |

We spent a lovely long weekend in Colwyn Bay a few summers ago. It was a pin in a map selection, but turned out to be a perfect choice for the time, real cosy and relaxing. Didn't have the kids with us that trip, but certainly the B&B was very child friendly, with a real welsh welcome. There's a pier and lovely beaches there with a nice promenade. And I think there's also a zoo nearby - all kids love zoos. And Llandudno is no far away if you need a little more life than Colwyn offers.
So my vote goes to Colwyn Bay. |

Llangollen is a nice place, a river in the middle of town, riverside park for the children, a few little shops, a canal that you can go on trips on and best of all there is a steam railway where you can see Thomas the Tank!! Lol, its actually a nice journey on the train! |

Yes. There are some beautiful spots in Sunny North Wales.
First of all (depending on where you are staying), Wales is well known for Castles. You can find a castle in all parts of Wales. (if u like Castles)
If you like the beech, then you can choose Talacre or maybe Rhyl. Rhyl is also good for gambling and it has a VERY good swimming baths your toddler may enjoy. (BUT beware, Rhyl is a dump) Also Llandudno is a nice day out and has lots of shops, a beech and boat rides. Nice place.
Hmm, There are also some lakes just south of North Wales. eg Bala. Absolutly stunning when the weather is nice.
Sorry ran out of ideas
Hope you have a nice holiday. |

Please don't do Rhyl - go to Llandudno or Conwy, they're cleaner versions of Rhyl! On the other hand, Rhyl has that Sun Centre which is quite good, and Geronimo's (MASSIVE indoor children play area) is fantastic! Ok you can do Rhyl but not the beach - it's filthy. There's a brilliant castle in Conwy and Caernarfon which are child-friendly IF you take those reins - you might lose him over a wall somewhere otherwise. The train up Snowdon is good as well. There's a brilliant mine in Blaenau Ffestiniog as well, but it might scare him - does he have an aversion to loud noises? That's all I have to offer at the moment! |
