Planning a Trip to the UK :)?

I am planning a little trip to go to the UK next weekend (London, England Specifically), and i was wondering if any lovely residents could tell me some places i should definitely visit and sights to see :) It's been on my list of places to visit for a long time and i finally get the chance.
I just live in Dublin, Ireland so its not too far of a travel! I can't wait.

I thought at first that you would have plenty to read with so many answers but the quality was lacking somewhat.

London can get to be expensive but, as with everywhere, some things are free and equally as good.

The national museums are excellent and each one (they are in the same street) can take all day to go around. National gallery too.

Architecture, like that round the Royal Albert Hall and of course if you can get to Buckingham Palace when they change the guard, that is great too. The Palace mews are often open to the public, at a small fee, see the royal horses and the coaches, some rare drawings are kept there as well. Walk up the road to see the other Royal palaces too.

Harrods, you have to see that shop, there are things for sale there which you will not see any where else and there is a little known private museum called the Wallace Collection free to see not too far away

Check out the sites below for more expensive ideas

Natural History Museum is worth a visit, greenwich and the RAF museum in Hendon is not bad the rest is the normal stuff, aquarium on the south bank is ok for a couple of hours, oxford street for shops, Tottenham court road for electrical ware. Of course you have to walk down the mall to buck house just so as you've done it. The eye is usually 500 deep and that's for the tickets, once you have the ticket the queue is still 500 deep to get on. Nice view from the top but tooooo long to get on. Some of the markets are decent and different. Of course you have to take in a show plenty of them along shaftsbury ave to choose from.

I would definitely recommend the London Eye but only if it's really good weather, because the above poster is right, you will probably have to queue up for a while but it is soooo worth it if it's a clear day :) you could go to the Tate Modern while you are nearby if you're into art.

Also if it's nice, check out Covent Garden and Camden too for quirky shops and cafes.

There's loads to do if the weather is not so brilliant too.

Natural History Museum, just on Trafalgar Square.

London Aquarium is great, went there not long ago.

Jump on a tour bus to see all the sights!

Have a great time!
