Personally, I'd get her a pack-away waterproof poncho-type thingy. It's boiling hot here by our standards but it can suddenly belt down with rain at any moment - it did this afternoon.
If you want to spend more money, buy her some sensible walking shoes and get her to wear them before she goes - a lot of the UK was built before cars and she is bound to have to walk further than you ever do (in my experience anyway) in urban America. |
