Question for people in the uk.....?

so heres the thing im from america im from california.. and me and my friend were talking about that we bout want to go to london someday... and me and my friend we are both latinas dark skinned n were both mexicans.. we both speak english very well and spanish. because spanish is our first language.. so my question is if we go are people going to be rude to us. i dnt want to sound ignorant so please dnt get mad. but i have heard how french people could be rude. because my aunt who is also mexican went to paris for her honeymoon and she came back very sad.. she said that people in paris treated her like shyt.. and i want to know if the people in london are the same as the people in paris im not writting this question to offend anyone in the uk. but i want to have an idea how would people in the uk treat us. cause we do plan to go next year. thank you xoxoxo

London is a very mixed city both racially and culturally. you will be very welcome :-)

You've got to be joking. You won't be treated badly because you're foreign. London is absolutely jam packed with tourists from every country imaginable!

London is extremely capable of dealing with visitors from anywhere.

But I do wonder why Americans only know of London. There are far more interesting places in Britain than London.
And asa general rule, the further north you travel, the more friendly the people are.

London is one of the most cosmopolitan places in the world...basically people here will not care where you come from as long as you don't go around saying how much better, and bigger, everything is in the US!

CLYDE55
You will find that London is welcoming to all Nationalities.
Come and enjoy yourself.

The French are rude to everyone, it shouldn't be taken too personally.

London people can be very impolite because they live their lives in a rush, but they are rarely abusive. I'm am sure most Londoner's will like you.

Everywhere else you are likely to go in the U.K. you would be welcomed. The friendliest people are in the N.E and S.W.

You will be made very welcome in our great country. I am White British and my wife is Black African and London must be one of the most Cosmopolitan and Diverse Cities in the World . We live 50miles from London by the Coast and we have no problems where ever we travel in UK so please have a wonderful time.
As for France , the French are quite proud people and prefer speaking in French when people are visiting their country . I am sorry that Aunt was treated badly in Paris , We had same problem to and were refused entry in an expensive resturant in Paris but my wife who speaks 6 languages is fluent in French and let them knew excatly what she thought of them. However must French people we have meet do admit they have a problem with black, arab , asian looking people because they fear for their jobs and losing the french Idendity and Culture - given more time The french will be like the British and welcome all.

Dont believe everything you here. britain is great and you shouldn`t let heresay put you off. you have to make the most out of life. and england is a great place to begin. we are good people and the french are ok too.you get idiots where ever you go.

you could visit me if you like.i`d like to learn spanish.(he.he)

yeah i agree with everyone above.

the french don't tend to like foreigners encroaching on their land i think, they won't give the time of day to anyone.

you obviously get some characters who aren't nice as everywhere. but generally everyone will welcome you and will be willing to talk to you and help you.

it would be nice for you to venture outside London as well, there's some really nice areas. Brighton is another multicultural place, quite an interesting city.

try some nice places in the countryside, when you get out there, there is actually a lot to see.

but anyway, yeah, no ones going to bite your heads off for anything unless you are rude to them first.

come here and enjoy.

london is a very nice place to visit
here in england we have many nationalities living here so would ot say you will be ill treated
but it does depend on where abouts in london you go as there is some bad places just like there is some bad places in america too
you needn't worry we english are nice (well most of us are) adn yes the french can be very ignorant as i too had the same problem in paris in 2007 when i took my children there
Hope you have a lovely time when you come over

lord trumpington
rude?absolutely no, we would welcome you with opened arms! I have been to Paris and I speak French, they are very ignorant there in the City, but the country people in France are most polite as they have more time to enjoy life. Yes, come to the UK!!!

Alan1205
There are people from all over the world living permanently here in the UK and lots of visitors too! Most people try to make them feel welcome. You will not stand out from the crowd in large places like London, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow and so on. If you visit smaller villages people might look at you a bit more because they are not so used to foreign people, but they will still be welcoming!

We are not like the French (although some French people are also welcoming!).

nutterorsaintuchoose
no hun on the hole i find english people very nice and not rude but i can not vouch for the rest uk is a nice place and the french anti fans of the english

No, London is one of the most diverse places you can go to, you will be treated exactly the same as anyone else.

Don't worry about France. I am white and I was treated like crap there too.

London is one of the most mixed cities in the world, nobody will give you a second glance if you're dark skinned.

I have a Brazilian friend who works in London and she says she's never experienced any problems at all because of her nationality even though she speaks English with quite a strong accent.

jaylondon
The UK is a very multi cultural country (especially the larger cities). You will even find a mexican community in London. You would be very welcome her in the UK (the French are rude to anyone who isn't french!)

Tanya
I don't think you should have any problems in London, it's a very multicultural city anyway and people from all around the world go there so I'm sure people will be mostly nice.

Evofirst
The French are very proud people and they consider their language and culture to be the best. From past history, French and Brits do not get along and they don't take kindly to people speaking English especially if you are not a Caucasian yourself.

They respect you better if you communicate with them in your own language even though you know they probably don't understand spanish... when you speak in Spanish in France or any other foreign language other than English, they will respect you more and try to communicate with you in English especially if you are not English. They are actually warm and friendly people, the French.

As for London, it is a cosmopolitan and busy city filled with lots of lovely site to visits, you will find getting around London very easy and convenient, however just like New York, you will find nice people and downright ignorant and rude people everywhere, in London too. Don't let these ignorant people spoil your holiday, London is beautiful city to visit.

I do encourage you to visit London and enjoy its history and sites regardless of some minority.

As you are well versed in English, you would have no problem getting around on your own.

Biedronka
Hola! I think you'd have a hard time finding anyone British, whose ancestry goes back longer than 3 or 4 generations max.
Go and have some fun!

coco
all these people are lying to you honey in the uk people dont like red heads and we dont like people who think there better so what ever you do dont speek spanish in some londoners face there will go off on you
(i think that somthing one of you americans would say)anyways havent you heard the song ldn by lily allen, before you come give it a listen its all so true
however you wont get treated as bad as you would be in paris as long as you dont have that mexicna accent that is way to strong we should be fine oh and dont dye your hair red lol
