Safest areas to live in London?

Hello. What would be the safest areas in London for a 20year old female to live in? I have visited London last year and I am thinking of West and North. I can afford £230 a week (for a couple of months, then maybe move to a more affordable place somewhere else)
I am thinking of Green Park, Notting Hill Gate, Maida Vale?? Your suggestions?

At the website below you'll find the Metropolitan Police crime figures for the whole of London by area (Borough).

http://www.met.police.uk/crimefigures/index.php

Just hover the 'hand' over an area (Borough) look right, it will show you the Borough name and give you the crime stats for that area.

GoogleSearch - london rents £230 per week
http://www.google.com/search?client=opera&rls=en&q=renting+in+london+on+230+per+week&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

Most of what you'll see at the above site are rents of £230 per week. If you want to pay less just type RENTING IN LONDON ON 200 A WEEK. The Google Search engine will do the rest.

Welcome to London.

The good bits of Islington off Upper Street and near the Angel (N1) are very nice, very central and also safe. You should be able to find something relatively good for that price range. West London is nice but it is extremely expensive.

Exiled in the Midlands
Most of London is fine. I lived in some so called rougher parts and never had the trouble I got in Oxford and Weston super Mare. I recommend Crouch End, Wst Hampstead, or if you prefer South of the River, Blackheath is very nice. To be honest, neighbourhoods do not depend on geography. I had a flat in Walthamstow (E17) which was OK, and remember the Tube will take you out into the countryside as will the railway. It depends where you are going to work. Living in the in centre is OK, but most Londoners stick to their 'manor', or neighbourhoods. London is a collection of villages, remember.

Mayfair/Green Park is bang in the middle of the west end, You will need far more than £230/week to live there.

Notting Hill Gate and Maida Vale are also expensive areas, though a little cheaper than Mayfair. You may have to go a little farther from the centre.

It's not as simple as which area to be honest. Every area has it's dodgy council house estates and you don't want to be near them. Even Chelsea has World's End estate. My suggestion is choose an area which is nearest commuting distance to your work which you can afford and then look at the nice streets within that area. Check out your potential neighbours, visit the local shops and pubs to get a feel for the place before you commit to living there. Bad areas have some lovely friendly streets and vice versa. London cannot just be defined by area but on a street by street basis.

Suton, and croydon are great. kate moss was born in croydon like Me!

West side, don't live in the North it is pretty rough especially around seven sisters.

Mind you Croydon and seven Kings isn't that bad either. Actually most of London is fine. it is all generally the same.

The west side might be too expensive.

Well for that kind of money you can live were you like in london. I have lived on the kings road in Chelsea for £1000 per month. You got loads of restaurants pubs clubs gyms etc. You could get a massive flat in clapham for that kind of mony too, I'm off there tomorrow. If you really want action you could even live in Soho for that kind of money. I lived there for 2 months for £300 per week.

I would pick Chelsea. Very nice area near all the action if you want it.
and reasonably safe.

I don't think there's any safe place to live in London cause the chaos of drugs, alcohol and illegal aliens with the compliment of the government so they can control the masses with the DNA check and the national ID proposal..etc
