I read the answers you have already, I am scottish and my best advice to you is to go to www.babynameworld.com/scottish , you can also research the most popular names for a particular year going way back so u can see what are more traditional names that have survived, trends change here as much as anywhere else, most book shops will have books on this.

Scottish as opposed to Irish? Or Gaelic? Let's see - Fiona is pretty typical for Scotland. I like Skye - there's an actress Fiona Skye - that's probably why I thought of that. I think they spell it Ceo in Gaelic. I love the island. I keep thinking about Siobhan (pronounced she-fawn) but I think that's more Irish. Then there are old-fashioned names like Bronwyn. Morag is also a Scottish girl name.
