Well not me, as I live in a rural area too far from the school to walk with 2 small children, and there is no bus service.
But anyone with a 4x4 using it to drop their child 500m down the road should have their gas guzzling monstrosity crushed. I know a few parents who do this at our school - and they are the ones who park on the zig zag no parking lines, which reinforces the fact that they just don't care about anyone but themselves. And they have more money than me and it's not fair. |

Hi again, I walk my kids to school, and I still would stop impatient a88holes from jumping the queue! |

Yes, if it is less than a mile! I agree, I always walked to school in my day back in prehistory! My Mum would never give me a lift! |

only those who insist on getting their kids out on the off side of the car and block the road with open doors and put the kids at risk |

Sounds a little too drastic don't you think? |

No of corse not, I get driven to school, but I do live in the country side and walking is dangous cause no pavements to walk on and i would have to walk 40 mins ever morning and evening in the dark during the autum and winter |

If it's within walking distance (less than a mile), and the weather is alright - then yeah, i totally agree with you.
But i lived 3 miles from school, there were so many turns and roads, and hills and lanes to go through - it took me like 45minutes+ on my bike =/.
Could not physically do that every day. Especially with a really heavy bag on my back.
And i wouldn't want to turn up to school all sweaty and gross. |

I don't have kids and I do get a bit annoyed about the amount of traffic during the school terms. At the same time, I appreciate that the car is an easy option for some people, especially anyone who lives in a rural area with lousy public transport.
In an ideal world, people would share the school run duties, there would be better dedicated bus services for kids, cycle paths would be more sensibly designed for family cycling, but we've a way to go yet. |

Sorry I don't agree with you, unfortunately I am a working mam and my child goes to school where my parents live which is 8 miles from home as they have to look after her when I am at work late of have meetings to go to. So I don't think you can judge others as you don't know their circumstances. I agree some who live around the corner are just lazy but others have valid reasons.

Yeah its a pain in the backside when your late for work and there are extra cars on the road because of school run. You could get our own a*s out of bed 10 minutes earlier and avoid it but, hey why should you....
