You must be very unsure if your asking on here. My grandmother has moved from england to spain and im not convinced that she is really happy about living out there. The only reason that people are moving abroad is because property is way cheaper over there than over here. I dont think thats a good enough reason to live their permanently.
Its fine if you have a partner or a family, but going on your own not knowing a soul is another matter. You havent said if you are going to live there on your own. You also have the constant heat to deal with as well.
Consider it wisely before you take the plunge as it could backfire. |

YES!! I have done it and it’s the best thing we ever done.
We financially better off, shopping, food, drink, petrol, EVERYTHING is far cheaper than the UK, the weather is fantastic, makes you feel a lot happier than depressing grey skies in the UK, the life style is so much better and to be honest, it safer, no drunken chavs running around. |

I left the UK 10 years ago and made the move to Spain, although it was very daunting, I would never go back now and the Spanish way of life has really made a big impact on my life and I love it!
I see many people come here and then leave within the first year, 6 months tends to be the magic number, where many people come and then are back home within that time span.
You have to be a fighter as life here can be hard to start with, getting used to their culture, food, language, buying a house, buying a car, getting a job and so on, if you have the spirit and know you can make it work then I would say YES you should move to Spain.
Have you thought of what area you would like to be? I am based in Malaga and like the climate here, the countryside and the people
The following websites might help you
http://www.ambientjobs.com - So you can view the jobs that are available in Spain in English and Spanish
http://www.directestates.com - Property in Spain and includes an area guide so you can read about some main areas of Spain
I hope some of this helps and I would help you anytime |

If you are Born British then your are making a huge mistake! If you are an immigrant then please do catch the very next flight out!!! Sorry but the parks full. Standing room only!!!
For all the do gooders please note i did say born British That includes everyone of what ever colour or ethnic persuasions or religion. So anyone that is born here is British.British is British. This is not racist. Just a sad fact of life. kitana below me should fooook off outa here too. Why slag off this great country and still stay here!!! |

Where will your roots be then? No family to fall back on-or close friends. You don't know how to fend for yourself in a foreign country(or do you?) Strange language, different culture, what is the price of prescriptions-is it expensive like in Ireland?, will the education system be what you want for your children when you get married? There are many things to consider. |

only if you speak the language and have a crap load of money. my mum and dad live out there and they love it and only come back july-sept because it is far to hot. but they have lots of friends and lots of money and dont need to work. house prices out there have gone through the roof, you're looking at 300k for a 3 bed semi villa on the coast less if you live inland and away from the big towns. cost of living is realtively cheap £40 a year council tax and car tax is about £30.be warned that they drive like nutters much worse than the UK, leave a gap and some nutter will be in it. i also know some people who have moved there and still live like they are in britain, you know the sort, carpets inside the house, watch eastenders or corrie every night and sit inside all day because its too hot. they want to come home but have burnt all their bridges and cant sell their property and are stuck out there. i would suggest a long holiday first and check out the real spain. good luck xx |

Not just like that!
Start Spanish classes now, today! If you are serious about living here, this will test your determination.
Come on holiday(s) and travel around the country. But living somewhere is quite different from being on holiday - especially the days when you feel you'd like to go home and realise you ARE home. |

Not if you are planning to get a job teaching English and that will be your only income. I did it and despite working all hours of the day and night, did not earn enough money to pay for rent (one room in a shared house) and food. AND I was highly qualified (over-qualified in fact). But I would have earned more being a cleaner. So, once my savings were all gone, I had to leave. I lasted six months (as someone else said, the magic number!) |

it depends on your reasons for wanting to go |

My friend wants to do that because he is bored of the UK. He is quite intelligent and I'm sure he could find a job no probs doing his web design. He thinks that the UK is boring, the food's boring, everything's too expensive, people are bad mannered and the problem with society's rejects are what's failing this country. I agree with him, I'd even go with him if I could, but commitments here are stopping me. He has been around Europe on holidays and I've even taken him to HK so it's not like he's not experienced other cultures.
If you do go and it all goes wrong, you can always come back. |
