Leave it 'til the morning, have an early night and set of early, take it in easy stages with plenty of rest stops, the kids won't be as bored this way. Also take your own food and drink for yourself and the kids, you know what robbers motorway services are! Have a good safe journey, best wishes to you and the children. |

yes weather not too bad south of glasgow, but take your time and drive in the slow lane on the motorway,as that is the safest lane..surprise your family and have a great new year....:) |

You will be fine. The really bad weather is not due until the weekend. Just use your common sense on the way down if the weather does turn bad and I am sure you'll be fine!
Safe travelsx |

Bugger of a journey, especially with young kids.
Precautions to take. Are you confident that the car is up to the Journey?
How are the kids at travelling?
Check the latest weather forecast before leaving, and check teletext for road conditions.
Finally how do you feel? have you had enough sleep? do you feel alert? I would certainly not recommend driving through the night if you have been looking after kids all day. Remember you are carrying a really precious cargo.
Good luck and safe journey if you decide to go |

I think i would go if it was me! Take stuff for the kids to do and a duvet or blanket. Also make sure your car is in tip top condition, you don't want to be breaking down on a long journey.
Have fun with your family |

I think the weather is just crap up this way in general - your kids will probably sleep - get your head down for a rest and go for it just make sure you stop if you feel too tired and drive sensibly x |

driving at night is not the best idea i know the kids will prob go asleep but driving at night is more dangerous and if there is bad weather and traffic jams better off going in daylight if you ask me its a very long drive.see how you feel later if you don't feel ok driving don't do it go with your gut feelings |

Perhaps not, for safety reason. God bless := ) |

wow - that's a long journey to consider in an evening!!!!
it would take you several hours - like overnight. I wouldn't fancy it with two youngsters in the back - and I bet they wouldnt be too impressed either.
Is there a train?
Happy new Year whatever yiou do. |

Why not take the train would be safer. Check out ticket prices from http://www.thetrainline.com
You can now pick tickets up at the station instead of waiting for them to be posted to you. |

You can get a train at Glasgow Central at 16.10 that gets you (direct) to Plymouth at 23.48.
Wouldn't that be more relaxing than driving all that way?
But good luck and safe journey if you do decide to drive down :-) |

Why are you relying on a bunch of strangers to make a decision about such a long journey. Surely you should be planning this in advance especially with young kiddies in tow. |
