I don't think it will happen as there are plenty of people who don't want to split... if you don't consider yourself as British then just call yourself English... its not rocket science!!!!!

But when you think of our country as great and all the great things we have done in the past that make you proud etc don't you realise that some of those people are not English but part of great Britain?

As i cant talk to you face to face I'm not sure if your pro English or anti every other country.... As for me I'm pro English and feel proud of being English and find it stupid that people complain when we want to fly the st Georges cross and find it offencive but I'm also proud of great Britain as we have a great heritage that other countries don't have.

Hello again... As you have updated your points i have to agree with you as im fed up with this crappy PC views all the time and i think its making our country go down hill... what other country does not allow people to show there flag because it might offend other countries... for example can you imagine pakistan asking people in there country to take down a flag because it might offend an Englishman.. NO is the answer. And i always fill in forms that i am English... It just does not bother me about the british thing.... But good question by the way and thanks for updating to give me more info... up the Gunners but shame we cant beat Bolton again.

I agree, as a Scot is clear to me that the union isn't delivering for us. From watching the London based media, i can see that its not working out for the English either. Lets all of us embrace our true nationalities, Scottish, English or welsh and abandon this idea of "britishness".

I also am English, but we are the BRITISH ISLES including the CHANNEL ISLANDS, that makes me BRITISH /ENGLISH to split these countries will result in the ultimate break up of the Kingdom, so I am against it completely,and we are not three pieces of land we are four pieces of land including NORTHERN IRELAND,when we go to war we go as one NATION not four separate nations.

well, we can cut it off thru the tyne estuary, and end up on the west coast.

it'd make a fortune for shipping... and England would gain some of scotland, and lose some of northumberland...

there was a band called MAN, their first album showed them pushing wales away from teh mainland...

and as to mixed ancestry, im English, Irish Scots, and we originally left wales in 6AD... well hang draw and quarter me...

and yes, I'm ENGLISH... Great britain is just a sociopolitical conglomeration for teh sake of taxation and central government.

I wasn't asking why you were asking the question. I was asking why we should put resources into splitting the UK when we should be concentrating on things like our foreign policies and education.
I think you'd be interested to hear that your taxes are paying for certain British companies 2 build things like dams which are forcing people out of their homes. Then they come here and aren't welcome... maybe you should ask your mp why this is rather than picking on people who have no choice but to emigrate from their homes.
