me and my hubby went away for my birthday and could not decide where to go, so we travelled to the start of the A5, welsh bound and wrote 100 slips of paper with "left" "right" and "straight over" when we ran out of slips we stopped at the nearest town, we ended up in bala and had a ball we stayed in a pub called the "plas coch" £10 per night the room was fab, the food was gorgeous and the nightlife was reasonable too, we drove to Harlech Castle and to a little waterfall just outside, then we drove into barmouth for the day and went on the fair and to a couple of pubs, it depends what you are after, if you are happy with pot luck then highly reccomend this idea, well it worked for us, hope you have a great weekend wherever you end up, |

What about the New Forest.
Lots of walking (it's free). Try horse riding or use your bike on one of the many paths in the beautiful forest. Go to a deer sanctuary or visit one of the many gardens. Cheap BB and good value Pub meals. It's worth a try! |

You seem to have been to all the delightful places such as Blackpool, Liverpool, Plymouth and even Manchester. I can't decide which is the biggest dump. Great Yarmouth is even worse, if it hasn't burnt down, it is falling down. You might as well go a weekend at the local industrial estate!.
The places I would recommend are Matlock and Matlock Bath. It is a reasonable drive from Chester, there is plenty to do from romantic cable cars to the Blue John mines at Castleford ( who knows, hubby might buy you a Blue John love token !).
The restaurants are good in Matlock along with good hotels. What could be better than lying in bed in the morning in crisp linen sheets contemplating the day ahead.
A few miles down the road there is Bakewell, famous for its tart. The scenery is stunning in the Peak District.Plus the shopping can be good too with various factory outlets . |

Why not indulge yourselves. Check into a Malmaison hotel (or similar) with a petit spa. The one in Birmingham is good. Hide yourselves away for the 1st couple of hours having a sleep and unpacking. Then set out to the shops and buy some new shoes or a new dress and some bath bombs for the bath. Come back and have a facial, a relaxing swim and sit down on a massage chair and ease the week away. Return to your room and glam yourself up taking your time in the bath (maybe bath together - very sexy). Go down to the restaurant and have a glass of Champagne followed by a sumptous dinner. Go out of the hotel and walk along the canal stopping for a glass of wine in an open air bar then stroll back slowly to your hotel for a romantic evening and sleep in the next morning as long as you want.
Bliss! |

Brighton is a really nice place to take a break and is famous for couples taking breaks and has loads of b&bs and hotels of different ratings. There are so many things to do there including restaurants, pubs, the pier, the seafront, the laines, the shops. The surrounding countryside is also lovely. |

Obviously the buzz has gone out of your relationship, time to look for a new partner and this weekend looks like a good time to start. |
