Maybe... if i didn't eat the outer casing, and I was sure the insides were cleaned out I would. It's pretty damn tasty if you ask me. Plus, I've also eaten some really good sausage that is made in the same way.

Sadie C
Excuse me but i am not a Yank! lol. That is very assaulting. I am of Irish English and Scottish descent. But a Yank can be the other way around as well so I'm not sure what you are talking about! No! I will not eat Haggis cuz I am a vegetarian and I respect animals. You should respect animals too cuz they are beautiful creatures from Scotland.

OF COURSE! I was in Scotland just a few months ago, and I loved it there. My ancestors were from near Onich.
If there were jobs available for an American, I would move there.

I'm from Los Angeles area. Haggis doesn't sound good to me- it's hard to eat new things without thinking about what they're made from. Same problem with escargot- can you eat it without thinking about the snails you've seen on the ground? Sometimes you're better off not knowing the ingrediants if you want to sample local foods. Then decide if you like it before finding out what it is made from. I wonder if there is something Americans eat that people from other countries would hesitate about. Oh, by the way, my highschool (in Glendora, California) had a Scottish theme. We were known as the Tartans (the Tartan footbal team, the Taran band, etc). The school marching band had bagpipers in kilts and I was a flag-twirler wearing a very short mini-kilt, a vest and glengarry bonnet. We went to Edinborough for a week to perform and see the Tattoo. We didn't find out about haggis until the end of our stay, when we saw the word on T-shirts in the souvenir shops ansd asked what it meant! We were pretty amazed.

Chango Encuerado
It tastes really good, I'm not sure if I'd get it from an old lady on the street, but I buy it regularly with the local butcher.......and yes I know what's in it.

Maybe I like it because I'm not American, I'm Mexican.

I would probably give it a try, although it doesn't sound like I would like it. My Granny came here in 1890 at age 13. She was originally from Dunoon. and her family name was Leighton.

gary83
actually there was a couple of americans at a pub here a couple of years ago and they asked my mum about haggis and my mum ended up just inviting them bak to my house so they could try it. they did too. so no one can say they aint adventurous.
