Caernarfon Castle as far as I know is the most intact. Conwy castle is the other of note.Penryn castle, just outside Bangor is quite nice, it is also near the world's most productive mussell beds on the Menai Strait (which co-incidentally also has a very fast flowing tide, a house built on an island that you can only get to by boat and two famous bridges built by Brunel - the first one being - now replaced- steel box tunnel(first of it's kind) and the other being a chain-link suspension bridge. Some mates have done a bridge swing off one and when it was completed, the workers who built it ran across on top of the chains. Also, you can't go to N. Wales without going to visit some slate quarries. At the turn of the 19/20 centuary, Porthmadog was the largest slate exporter in the wolrd, shipping to China, now only Blanaue Ffestiniog remains. Llanberis is well worth a visit as it is the site of a large (now disused) slate quarry (very interesting museum now in place where you can see real welsh men splitting slates) and of course the mountain railway up snowdon (£14 rtn). To walk up snowdon, rangers path is best, followed by pyg track. Go to bus stop quarry above Llanberis and can walk through masiive old slate pits (100m+deep)and big pools of crsytal clear water you can jump in. Vivian quarry is excellent for sub-aqau diving as is the coast of Angelsey with lots of wrecks off Rhoscolyn Beacons, Treaddur Bay and South Stack. The beaches of Niwborough and Red wharf bay are excellent for a walk/camping on. You can surf off Rhosneiger(can get b.busy)and hire boards at the surf shop). Aberffraw is a bit quieter. You can mountain bike in Coed y Brenin or hire bikes from Betwys y coed. Bangor City (yes it has a cathedral) features the longest high st in Wales. The great orme is a liemstone plateau which runs through wales to LLanymynech in Powys, it also features some newly-discovered giant caves (st paul's cathedral-size) with lots of archealogical artefacts from old quarrying of precious metals (might not be open to public). Rhyl is protected in a microclimate by the giant hill behind enjoying one of the highest sunshines and lowest rainfalls per year of any uk seaside town. Chester is in england and excellent for retail. |

There are quite a few attractions around North Wales.
Ask for more information at the caravan park that your staying at or even the local tourist information board office that is in the local town that your staying close to.
Good luck. |

I lived in north wales for years n theres a fair bit to do depending on where abouts in north wales it is. Theres Colwyn Bay mountain zoo,Portmeirion the Italian village where they filmed The Prisoner, snowdon if you like climbing and walking. Rhyl which has got the Sun Centre fun pool, and fun fair. The caravan site should have brouchers and things or try the north wales tourist board on line! hope the weather improves for you!! |

Llangollen is a nice place to go, river runs through the middle of town, a few nice pubs, steam railway, canal, and its not far from Chester, which is also a nice place, I love shopping there! |

Try the Lloyd George museum, the slate works, any of the castles, the alternative energy centre or visit the nuclear power station, have a look at a map, sureley planning what you would do is part of the fun of a holiday, what do you like would give us a clue. Go for a ride on a steam train, visit the Ffestiniog railway. |

You should have said which part of North Wales you are staying at to minimise travelling. The three best castles are Caernarfon (where Prince Charles' investiture took place in 1969, Harlech castle which has lovely scenery and Conwy castle which is near an RSPB reserve. Snowdon is always worth a visit, whether you walk or take the narrow guage railway.Portmeirion near Porthmadog is a quaint Italianate village where "the prisoner", (a cult TV series of the 60s/70s) starring Patrick Mc Goohan was filmed. There are several lovely walks but as I said, it depends where your base is.
Go24...It's spelt Pwllheli by the way.
