Travel from Edinburgh airport to Murryfield?

OK, this is my problem. I have tickets to the rugby world cup game between Scotland and N.Z on the 23/9. Obviously the airlines have not added on flights (why would they...) so I am left with 2 options as I need to fly back to London that evening.
1] From Edinburgh airport @ 20.20
2] From Glasgow airport @ 21.25 (much cheaper)

The match kicks off @ 16.00 so it should be over at about 18.00-18.10.

My question is - taking into account that it is a Sunday, but that there will be 67000 rugby fans with me, how long (and how) will it take me to get toEdinburghor Glasgow and which is the better option? I really hope that someone can help - thanks.

I am not sure of the exact timetables, but citylink buses run at approximately half hour intervals.
You would probably have to change at Buchanan Street to get to Glasgow airport, but I hope this helps. The attached links are for this month as the timetables don't appear to be that far in advance, but it should give you an idea.

PS. do you have a spare ticket?

The airport bus should stop at the foot of Murrayfield Road if you ask the driver.

Try first bus and first train website. You can get all the answers you need for all timetables on trains and buses. Its an easy to use site, you type in all times, mode of transport, where and to and time of train back, you can check the best time to travel and you also find out what time the trains arrive at the place your going to etc. just follow the prompts and they will inform you of all best options. that way you can plan your day well in advance. Enjoy the match.

You can walk from Murrayfield stadium to City Centre in 15 - 20 mins when you came out turn right and follow the crowd. Once in the city centre go to Waverley Bridge Half way up Princes Street and you'll get a express bus to the Airport for around £5 will get you at Edinburgh Airport in under 30mins.

If you don't want to walk most Lothian buses that will pass will go to the city centre it will be on the front of the bus.

Your best bet is to walk from Murrayfield to Haymarket. You can either get ther airport bus to Edinburgh Airport, which will have to make it's way through the crowds, or get the Glasgow train. When you arrive at Queen Street Station then head to Buchanan Street Bus Station next door to get the bus to the airport.

btw, the organisers are only expecting around 25,000 for the Edinburgh 7's.

I would take the easy option and take the Airport shuttle bus from/to Edinburgh Airport. There is a stop at Murrayfield for both ways.

I would reccomend bus or train if you don't want to spend a lot. If you don't care about how much it all costs just get a cab.

I would just get a cab to avoid getting lost here is the route :

It may be a bit confusing since I just copied it of the internet and all the things aren't in columns. It says it takes around 15 minutes.

i really think you would be better and safer off if you left from edinburgh airport. The express bus stops right aoutside the stadium on the main road, costs about 5 pounds and takes 30 minutes and goes directly to the airport.

otherwise you would need to get into town to the train station and get to glasgow. the aiport bus leaves from there and takes another 20 mins so total time would be about 2 hours so you could be pushing it with that many people around....

There is a regular bus from Edinburgh to Glasgow I think its a 903, I drove from outside murrayfield to Glasgow on Thursday afternoon when the roads were quiet and it took me just under an hour along the motorway, if you are going to Glasgow remember its around 30 minutes plus on the bus from Glasgow city to Glasgow airport. I would go from Edinburgh as its a straight road from murrayfield to Edinburgh airport.

You can catch a bus direct to Edinburgh airport from Murrayfield as long as you head in the direction of town as soon as you leave the stadium ( the north and west stands) - its a number 100.
To get to Glasgow you may have to walk to Haymarket catch a train to Glasgow Queen Street station and taxi it from there. It depends how much cheaper as to whether its worth it or not.

where are you travel from.

Glasgow to Edinburgh trains 9Journet 40 mins.) run every 30 mins arriving at Haymarket, its a ten minute taxi ride or a 20 minute walk.

From Airport Taxi or local bus, about 20 mins.

Can't help further.
