Heathrow is the closest and there is a good train link to Reading from Gatwick. From Heathrow catch the regular air to rail coach link bus to Reading Station - takes about 40 minutes. From Gatwick there is a First Great Western train to Reading every 30 to 60 minutes which takes 75 minutes to reach Reading. www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk

London Heathrow or Gatwick - about an hours drive from Reading.

Suprises
Yeh you can get a train from Gatwick which takes about 1 1/2 hours (the direct line usually terminates at Manchester Piccadilly)

I would avoid Heathrow like the plague, Gatwick is far better, about an hours drive to reading. Have fun.

I am sure you could get a train from Gatwick to reading.
Or maybe a coach from heathrow to Reading.

Blazing Pen Avenger.
LHR or London-Gatwick. 'All roads lead to Rome!'

Jimbo
Best fly to Heathrow. Then a coach to reading.About 25 miles. Have a good journey.

I've never been to England, but I'm very aware of Reading Football Club. What they do is that they hire a cab or something and its very easy to get it from Heathrow Airport in London. Its about an hour or two and you will reach reading. Take a look at the Madjeski Stadium as well :)

stupidandbored
I think Bristol would be the closest and the easiest air port. depending on where you are going in reading but it is 70 miles from the air port to the train stations so
