London is generally a very safe place no matter what you hear on the news and other people on this site. If you stay in hostels in the centre of London you will be fine. Avoid South London for hostels and stay on the North side of the River. I think you will be fine. I am a 17 year old who has lived in London all her life and I have never had any trouble. Just be sensible and maybe read a travel guide before you go.
Any other questions please ask me, I can give you more Information about London if you want.
And here is a link for hostels in London.

Mona Lisa must be on something if she thinks that a stay in Soho is advisable for two sixteen year old girls. It is full of weirdo's and junkie's. I am a London cab driver and I know these places like the back of my hand. I am not going to say don't go but, I would not let my sixteen year old stay in Central London. Try to find a hostel, YWCA for instance that is 4 or 5 miles from central and, watch out for predator young men trying to spike you drinks so that you become uninhibited and are easy prey for sex. |

You two are too young to be traveling on your own, period. |

I think you are too young to travel to another country on your own. Have you talked to your parents about this yet? I would never let my son go to London on his own as a minor! I don't even know if you can legally. |

You're kind of young to go to Europe on your own. The hostels are ok, but its safer if you're in a bigger group or if you were older, say 18 at the youngest. |

hostels are fine, but make sure you have someone who knows where you are at all times. It's really important |

Uhhhhh this is a bad idea unless you know someone there, you really shouldn't be doing this by yourselves, don't do it, find a relative or someone your parents know and stay with them if you readlly do go. |

Don't make the peace sign. It's the British equivalent of flipping someone off. |

I went to England when I was 16 with a group from school. We stayed at a hotel called Huttons Hotel. It wasn't really the nicest hotel but it wasn't horrible. It wasn't a hostel, but it was probably quite cheap since that is where the ef group arranged for us to stay. |

It's fairly safe, one of my friends and her friend went to London and stayed in a hostel and it was fine (: (she was 17) but girls should always be careful when they go out alone at night... Don't have names of any hostels though... |

i think its all down to your parents and if you two feel safe doing it and both want to do it then do it. make sure you have enough money and credit on your phones. also perhaps if you can travel with more than just the two of you but that might not be your plans.
for travel it really depends where you live. i use south west trains.
just take precautions and youll be fine! |

London is a GREAT place to visit when you are young. It's the easiest city in the world to move around, because the tubes are so safe and clean and easy and inexpensive, and the city itself is not too big to find your way around. Don't let these people scare you; we all did things like this at your age. Hostels can be a little rough, but instead I would recommend placing an ad on craigslist.com, asking for a place for you and friend to to stay in the SoHo neighbothood (very close to everything and very fun). The people there are VERY friendly and will generally find a nice place for you to stay, usually free of charge (if its not too long and you are nice about it). I am sure they'll even be able to help you find an easy way to make a little extra money while you are there to help offset your expenses. |

The transit system (subway) is great. You can pretty much travel everywhere by train. I don't know about staying in Hostels. You may want to make sure that the Hostel is a short-term stay provider. Most long-term stay Hostels attract low-income residents, recovering drug addicts, nurses, people on parol etc. A short-term stay Hostel in a decent part of London will be a safe alternative. If I were you, I would report to the U.S embassy upon arrival and let them know where you plan to stay. Good luck. Be safe. You will love London. |

You can sell your bodies and stay for free. Take condoms. Sleep with one another and film it, post it on youtube and pay for the trip/s spending money. |

stay in Luton and travel to London on the train? |

I think that's a little young to go by yourself. Unless maybe you lived near there but I'm guessing you don't. I'm sure the hotels are like anywhere else, good and bad. I'd do some more research online. Maybe discuss it with some other people before making a decision. |

Unless you belong to a hard core gang wherever it is you hail from, you are not streetwise enough for London. As 16 year old girls you would be at risk from some very unsavoury characters.
Please wait til you're 18 at least. Or go with an adult. |

Yes they are generally very nice places to stay, well kept and everything. however, central london will be very expensive, you might prefer to stay an hour or two from the centre. I don't know any off the top of my head, but you mind find something good here: https://www.yha.org.uk/index.aspx
good luck, if you have anymore questions about England please ask. X |

London can be kind of rough at night. You should go with more than just the two of you if you are really going to go. Always keep extra money in your shoe so that even if you get pick pocketed you still have something to help out. Use common sense and you should be alright. |

you might be a little to young to be traveling that far but if your parents trust you then do it. Europe is very different then the USA so be careful and good luck |
