Lots of last minutes holidays were taken up. I went on the Thomsons website the other day, clicked on Auctions and there were loads of holidays being auctioned, some going for between £50 and £250 for between 2 and 4 tickets, and they have a choice of three hotels at each destination. I have been on an auction holiday before with My Travel and had a great holiday. Might be worth a try? |

Because the summer has been terrible, everyone wants to go away! |

Everyone already went on holiday because of the bad summer, so the holiday companies have already made their money. Probably. |

go for a cheap holiday flight and then find a cheap hotel at that destination. you can still get them if you do it that way. |

it depends on the type of holiday you are looking for. plenty on the ebay site from u.k. to far east. |

because the summer was so bad everyone wants to get away, plus the down turn in the world economy might have something to do with it |

Teletext holidays - they always have loads and are great value. I never book at a travel agents, this way cuts out the middle man. Or expedia.com. Probably because of terrorist threats worldwide, people arent snapping up the bargains, and will pay full price thinking its safer going through a travel agent off the high street. |

walk the high street and they will be throwing themselves at you to get rid of all the empty apartmenst they have all over europe , bet you could get a week somewhere nice with all flights etc for £100 per person |

I totally agree. We are encouraged to holiday in Great Britain, yet, I cannot find cheap accommodation in the Lake District, and it would actually cost me less to have a week away in France, including ferry crossing. But our daughter is living in the Lake District, and we havn't seen her for a year. I wouldn't mind, but we don't want to go until mid October, but cannot find anything under £300, including a caravan. Disgusting. |
