Problem is they haven't been planned.
The councils have simply reacted to dvelopments rather than having a strategy.

Central Oxford for me, you need an experienced local navigator to get anywhere!
On the other hand, there's a seaside town near here, where it's a local event to visit with a view to seeing which way round the traffic's going this year! |

I agree with you about Leeds and with Mancester, they're both horific. For length of time to travel around a small town the worst I've come across is Lancaster, the system is simple enough but traffic just doesn't move! I used to set off for work at 7.45 to travel the 6 miles or so to work and I arrived at 8.45. There are two speeds around Lancaster, dead slow and stop! |

I visited Manchester, hell never again. It's full of one way streets and you are forever going in circles, my language was not to be heard. Never again for me. |

Hastings. Not only is it poorly accessed from the West (Eastbourne) and the East (Deal way) you eventually get there to realise.... your in Hastings and want to leave again. |

Hemel Hempstead Magic Round-a-bout is a nightmare especially when people do not know it. It is six mini round-a-bouts around one large one. People get lost going around it all the time! |

You should try driving around Nuneaton, Warwickshire! It's the only town I know of that has it's ring road right through the centre of town. The whole purpose of a ring road is to avoid going into the town centre if you don't need to. In Nuneaton it is impossible to get from one side to the other without either goin through the centre (very congested and time consuming) or going out of town and taking a very long route around! |

Personally - Croydon.
However I've been to Swindon and experienced their magic roundabout. I can seriously imagine the guy who planned this road system sketching it and humming the theme to the magic roundabout kids show. Check it out:

Northampton, just too many lanes, and traffic lights.
A lot of people say MIlton Keynes is bad, but i live in Milton Keynes, and i find it increadibly easy, it's just a grid road system and you just need to know where you're going. |

Leeds is really easy. You must be stupid.
Try Louth, Lincolnshire. Try getting North, out of it. Virtually impossible. |

you will do well to beat Leeds in my opinion, but Milton Keynes is awful to drive around for me, as there is a roundabout for every minute of driving. |

Sutton town centre is easy to drive round if you have a monster truck. It has the biggest speed bumps known to man. |
