don't think it is,
I'd report your postie, If it was me I would not be happy that he was giving my mail to someone else.
Better still get a video of him doing it before you report him! that way he can't deny it. |
|

black_dahlia
 |
no, he has no rights to give the mail to unauthorised person...
this is wrong. how about you speak to the postman and if he continues then you can write to RM and address your concerns. |

NO!! |

No it is not. You should report him for not doing his job correctly. |

No...so it must be illegal....you should complain...unless it is impractical to do so, the post should be delivered to the address on the envelope...as far as I know. Otherwise it is not delivered is it. |

Not sure if its illegal or not but its certainly against the royal mail code of practice. Id report him! |
|

Penfold

No it is illegal. Unless you specifically notify the Post Office of an alternative postal address, the Post Office must deliver directly to you. |

ours often gave me the post for a neighbour, but we lived in the middle of nowhere to go, and if we were visiting next door it saved him about 10 mins, and he had time for tea and a gossip, that's how things used to be, pity the trust has gone out of the world,if only time could stand still sometimes |

Without getting the postie into trouble have you spoken to him or your neighbour about it .Tell them you would rather the postie put your post through your letterbox,he's probablly a nice guy and your neighbour may also be a nice person doing a good deed .Life too short |

If it's not legal it is definetly against Royal Mail code of conduct. The postperson has a duty to deliver YOUR MAIL to YOUR DOOR. He is responsible for the security of your mail from the time he/she sorts it until it is delivered to you.
Contact your Royal Mail Delivery Office and insist on speaking to the Delivery Office Manager. Failing that contact www.royal mail.com |
